Release list
Eternal Darkness 0.9.3
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem on the PlayStation 5 (homebrew, title PPSA99314) at 4K and up to 120 frames a second, built from Eternal Darkness Recomp 0.9.3.
European disc only (
GEDP01). The USA disc is not supported. You need your own disc image (.isoor.gcm): the game's program, graphics, sound and music come from it.
What's new in 0.9.3
- Camera options (beta): Options > Game > Camera adds two cameras beside the game's own fixed ones
- Third person: behind the character you play, turned with the right stick (up and down for closer or further), kept inside the room by the game's own collision, swinging round what's in the way
- First person: through their eyes, looking around with the right stick; looking closely at something hands over to the game's own shot and back; their arms and weapon appear while you aim
- No more freezes when sanity effects hit: the picture no longer stops while the game carries on (seen in the later chapters when an enemy's stare drains your sanity)
- No more freeze fast-forwarding a cutscene
- Sound no longer loops after the in-game menu at 120 frames a second
- The text boxes' scroll arrows are drawn smooth
- A hang is reported after 6 seconds instead of 20

European disc only (
GEDP01). The USA disc is not supported. You need your own disc image (.isoor.gcm): the game's program, graphics, sound and music come from it.
What's new in 0.9.0

- Your controller's buttons everywhere: every GameCube button picture in the game now shows your PlayStation buttons, including the Tome's controls page (now a list of your controls), its map, Press A to Continue, the quick spells and the organ's notes
- The Tome's buttons are where its pages say in the Modern and Custom layouts
- A new shader cache made on this build, so a fresh install starts without compiling
- A one-pixel line beside the cutscene bars at 4K is gone
