Wind Waker HD for PS5 v1.0.0: builder kit
The first release: a builder kit that turns your own dump of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U) into a title for a PS5 that runs homebrew.
There is no game in it. A recompiled port's eboot.bin is the game's own code, so no built title is ever released: the kit holds everything else, and your computer does the last step from your dump.
How to use it
- Download
wwhd-ps5-kit-1.0.0.zipbelow and unzip it. - Install and start Docker Desktop (Windows, macOS or Linux).
- In the kit's folder:
./make-title.sh /path/to/game.wux - Wait 15 to 60 minutes.
- Copy
out/PPSA99306to/data/homebrew/on the console over FTP.
The README.md in the kit has every step, the Windows commands and what to do when something goes wrong.
What you need
- A PS5 with etaHEN (or an equivalent), ShadowMountPlus and an FTP server
- Your own dump: a
.wuxor.wuddisc image with its keys, a Cemu.wuaarchive, or an extracted folder - Docker, about 6 GB of free disk and 8 GB of memory
What works
- 3x internal resolution
- The DualSense's symbols on the game's button prompts, placed as they are on the controller
- Sound, saves and save states
- Settings on the touchpad button: frame rate, resolution, aspect ratio, controls
Known limits
- The open island runs at 30 frames a second; 60 holds in menus and lighter scenes.
- Only the first island has been played. Reports from further in are welcome.
- Only the USA disc has been built. The European disc should work and has not been tried.
- Button pictures inside message text still show the Wii U's.
- Building on Windows follows the README's Docker commands, which have not been run on Windows.
Never share the folder the kit makes, or its eboot.bin.
