Linux — refryt-0.1.8-x86_64.AppImage: download, chmod +x, run. Or use
scripts/appimage-install.sh install from source for a desktop launcher entry.

Linux, Flatpak — refryt-0.1.8-x86_64.flatpak. It isn't on Flathub, so install the file:
flatpak install --user refryt-0.1.8-x86_64.flatpak, then flatpak run io.github.gridoe.refryt.
It needs the GNOME 49 runtime, which Flatpak offers to fetch the first time. mpv and yt-dlp are
inside. The sandbox can't see your browsers' profile folders, so "Import from a Browser" is hidden
and you sign in through the app's own window; "Launch on Startup" is hidden too, since a sandboxed
app can't write a login item.

Windows — two options, cross-compiled from Linux with limited testing on real Windows
hardware:

  • refryt-0.1.8-windows-x86_64-setup.exe — a real installer (Program Files, Start Menu,
uninstaller). Unsigned, so SmartScreen will warn on first run — expected, not a bug.
  • refryt-0.1.8-windows-x86_64.zip — portable, no install: unzip and run refryt.exe.
Extract the whole folder before running; the exe needs the DLLs beside it.

macOS — refryt-0.1.8-macos-arm64.dmg, for Apple Silicon only, added to this page after the
other files. Open it and drag Refryt to Applications. It is signed ad hoc and not notarized, so
macOS will refuse to open it on the first launch. Run xattr -cr /Applications/Refryt.app once,
or allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security. libmpv and yt-dlp are bundled; nothing needs
installing.

What changed since 0.1.7:

  • Icon rail — drag the sidebar narrow and it folds down to a rail of icons and playlist
covers, with each name in a tooltip beside the pointer. The sidebar now keeps the width it was
dragged to across launches, and no longer snaps back to its old width when made narrower.
  • Scroll Fades — Settings → Appearance → Window. Off by default and recommended with
transparency. Lists in the cards and on every page fade out at an edge with more to scroll to,
and the fade is real transparency, so the desktop shows through on a see-through window. In the
fullscreen player the queue and plain lyrics fade the same way, rather than into a band of solid
    colour.
  • Playback fixes
    • Next pausing instead of replaying, with Repeat One on the last song or a one-song queue on
      Repeat All.
    • Autoplay stopping at the end of a queue brought back from the last session.
    • Shuffle with Repeat All leaving one song out of every round after the first.
    • Add to Queue during a radio song marking the wrong song as playing, so Next replayed it.
    • A song picked after launch sometimes starting where the last session's song had stopped.
    • The media keys' Previous doing nothing on the first song of a queue.
  • Volume and mute are kept — muting from the speaker icon used to lose the volume, so the app
came back at the default level, and unmuting from the icon stayed silent. The volume and the
mute now both survive a relaunch.
  • A minimized window no longer stops the app on Wayland — the queue, media keys and tray kept
waiting until the window was restored.
  • Fewer wakeups while playing — PipeWire is asked for 45 ms steps, so a playing song wakes
the app about half as often.
  • Smaller fixes — a page loading in a window that isn't maximized keeps its card's bottom
corners round; the lyrics card fills its width while it loads and has no blank space below the
last line; the queue and lyrics panel keeps the width it was dragged to when made narrower.
