Yap 0.1.5

An alternative Zoom client for people who professionally yap for a living. Requires Apple silicon and macOS 26 or newer.

What changed

  • A better picture-in-picture window. Drag the video to reposition it, resize from any corner, or click it to return to the main meeting window. Microphone, camera, cloud recording, and leave/end-call controls are available directly in PiP. The video fills the window cleanly.
  • Consistent video-layout controls. The live meeting menu now uses the same compact layout icons and dropdown style as the recording player.
  • Discoverable meeting shortcuts. The main window shows ⇧⌘N to start a meeting and ⌘Return when joining the next eligible meeting is available.
  • A nicer Google Calendar sign-in finish. The completion page now matches Yap, supports light and dark mode, and offers an Open Yap button. Successful sign-in brings the app forward after the connection is saved.

Includes the smaller Apple-silicon-only runtime, bundled Google sign-in client, recordings with synchronized chat and transcripts, and playback speeds up to 2.75× from previous releases.

Install

Download Yap.dmg, open it, and drag Yap to Applications. Alternatively, expand Yap-macOS.zip. The release includes Developer ID signed, notarized installers, SHA-256 files, and a signed in-app update feed.

Account availability

Zoom Marketplace review is still pending, so Zoom may restrict authorization and external meetings. Google Calendar sign-in is in production but unverified; Google’s warning and user cap apply until approval. Calendar is optional. Publishing this installer does not establish either provider’s approval. The 0.1.3 installer supplied to Zoom review remains unchanged.
