GeoSkills v0.6.0 adds an explicit local composition-basis workflow and a scientifically reviewed K2O-SiO2 magma-series diagram while preserving the existing REE, spider, Harker, TAS, QA, and privacy contracts.

Highlights

  • Added a non-destructive anhydrous 100% data-basis layer. Users explicitly review the oxide list; source columns remain unchanged, volatile/LOI/Total columns are excluded, and invalid rows remain missing.
  • Added the Peccerillo and Taylor (1976) K2O-SiO2 diagram using Rickwood's (1989) corrected (52, 1.5) coordinate and the original, non-extrapolated boundary extents.
  • Restricted complete four-field automatic classification to SiO2 48-63 wt%. Visible samples outside this range remain unclassified and require review.
  • Added versioned boundary provenance, scientific-review metadata, fixed-asset hashing, grouped legends, count-only reports, and SVG/PDF/600 dpi TIFF/PNG exports.
  • Added structured coordinate validation for Nb/Y and scaled Zr(ppm)/TiO2(wt%) x 0.0001 without registering or claiming a supported Winchester-Floyd classification diagram.

Scientific and privacy boundaries

  • K2O-SiO2 use requires explicit volcanic applicability and anhydrous composition-basis confirmation.
  • Boundaries are literature fixtures and are never extrapolated or learned from uploaded data.
  • Public datasets such as GEOROC may support later coverage and regression testing, but must not redefine literature boundaries.
  • Shareable plans and reports omit sample identifiers, exact source values, absolute paths, and sensitive plotted-data CSV files.
  • All numerical processing remains deterministic and local.

Validation

  • 231 automated tests passed on the exact release commit.
  • Ubuntu and Windows CI passed on Python 3.11 and 3.12 for the release PR and merged main commit.
  • Skill structure validation returned Skill is valid!.
  • Synthetic Harker + TAS + K2O-SiO2 workflow validation completed as expected.
  • Scoped privacy scanning found no sample-ID, exact-value, or absolute-path leaks in declared shareable artifacts and no sensitive source-data CSV files.
