Opening an ad no longer fails silently. Tapping an ad now opens its
link from any host context, including an application or service context
that cannot start an activity on its own, and logs when no app can open
the link. The onAdDidReceiveClick callback now runs after the open is
attempted, so a callback that throws can no longer stop the ad from
opening. No public API changes.
A double tap opens an ad once. A second tap within one second of
opening an ad no longer opens its link again, and onAdDidReceiveClick
runs once. No public API changes.
A swipe across an ad no longer opens it. A finger that moved across an
ad and lifted inside it opened the ad and counted as a click, however far
it moved. A touch that moves farther than the system's touch slop now opens
nothing. No public API changes.
Open ads in your own in-app browser. New EloAdListener.onAdOpenClickUrl(ad, url): open url, the ad's click URL,
yourself, for example in a Custom Tab, and return true. Return false,
the default, and the SDK opens it in the system browser as before; it does
the same when the callback throws. The README's in-app browser example opened the URL from onAdDidReceiveClick while the SDK also opened it, so the ad opened twice.
If you followed it, move that code to onAdOpenClickUrl and return true.
The first ad after app launch no longer times out on a slow start. The
SDK now reads the advertising ID and the WebView user agent, and sets up
its network client, when you call configure, instead of during the first
ad request. An ad request no longer waits more than half a second for
either value; when one is not ready, the request is sent without it and
the next request includes it. Once read, the advertising ID is sent from
the last read without waiting and read again after each request. When
your app comes back to the foreground, the last value is dropped until a
new read lands, so a reset or opt-out made in system settings applies to
the first request after the user returns. No public API changes.
The first ad request after configure no longer times out on connection
setup.configure now sends one HEAD request to the ad server's health
endpoint, so the first ad request reuses an open connection. On an emulator
a new connection took 1.4 to 2.3 seconds of the 3 second deadline, and the
first ad after a cold start timed out. The request carries no chat content,
identifiers or consent data, and is not sent while the SDK is disabled. No
public API changes.
Demand-source notices now carry the WebView user agent. The tracking
notices the device requests for some demand sources now send the WebView
user agent that the ad request sent as device.ua, instead of the
platform's default HTTP agent (Dalvik/…), so the network sees the same
device on its tracking URL as in its bid request. Networks already receive
this agent in Elo's bid request, so no new data is shared. When the SDK
could not read the WebView agent, a notice keeps the platform's default
agent, as before. No public API changes.
