What's new since 0.1.1

• Sound. KrelboyneOS shipped without a sound server, so no install had audio. 0.1.2 adds PipeWire (with its PulseAudio and ALSA layers), WirePlumber, alsa-utils and pavucontrol.
• Volume control in the panel. The Xfce volume plugin now sits in the top panel next to the tray and battery.
• Login screen keeps its look after updates. The login background and theme moved to /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf, which package upgrades leave alone.
• Installer shows version 0.1.2.

Already installed 0.1.1? You can get sound without reinstalling:

sudo apt install pipewire-audio alsa-utils pavucontrol xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin

Then log out and back in, and add the volume control to the panel with Panel > Add New Items > PulseAudio Plugin.

Built from commit 4c05a3d on 2026-10-23. Tested: live boot in a UEFI VM with Secure Boot (sound through speaker-test, volume icon, installer version).

What's new since 0.1

• The installer's Donate, Support, Known issues and Release notes buttons now open in Firefox. They point to Ko-fi, the KrelboyneOS Discord and this Releases page instead of Debian's site.
• The dock's folder menu and the screenshot tool now use your own home folder instead of /home/grumpy.
• Installer shows version 0.1.1.

Also in this build (from 0.1): encrypted installs boot, and the panel has a battery indicator.
