Added

  • chrome: true works in Docker hermits signed in with a claude.ai login, driving Chrome on any machine on the same account.
  • The netguard DNS allowlist template includes claudeusercontent.com for Claude in Chrome's bridge.

Changed

  • A hermit with chrome: true on a setup-token or env credential launches without --chrome and warns at boot and in /hermitd:hermit-doctor.

Fixed

  • The first --chrome boot no longer waits on Claude Code's Claude in Chrome intro dialog.
  • The launch line reports Chrome as enabled only when --chrome is passed.
  • Storage drift no longer flags .hermit/helper-reports/, which core writes for helper and worker reports.

Upgrade Instructions

Run /hermitd:hermit-evolve. The evolve skill handles:

  1. Allow the Chrome bridge in existing netguard installs. If .hermit/docker/dnsmasq.allowlist is absent, or already contains a server=/claudeusercontent.com/ line, skip silently. Otherwise insert exactly these two lines immediately above the address=/#/ catch-all, touching no other line and preserving all hand-added address= records:

    # Claude in Chrome's bridge
    server=/claudeusercontent.com/1.1.1.1

    Never re-run /hermitd:docker-security: it regenerates the file and erases hand-added records. The entry takes effect at the next hermitd-docker down && hermitd-docker up on the host. After a successful edit, tell the operator to run that command now only when config.chrome is true; otherwise say nothing, since it applies at the next recreate.

    If the edit is refused or fails, do not retry. Tell the operator in one line: Add server=/claudeusercontent.com/1.1.1.1 with the comment # Claude in Chrome's bridge above address=/#/ in .hermit/docker/dnsmasq.allowlist, then run hermitd-docker down && hermitd-docker up on the host.
