Bug Fixes

  • a revision's description keeps the release's name (#108) (dad1355)

Linux (Debian, Ubuntu). cogpit_0.48.2_amd64.deb (x86-64) and cogpit_0.48.2_arm64.deb (ARM) are Cogpit for Debian 13, Ubuntu 24.04 and later: the desktop app, with the command-line tool cogpit-cli. Install with sudo apt install ./cogpit_0.48.2_amd64.deb. The package sets up Cogpit's APT repository (https://guided-traffic.github.io/cogpit/apt, signed with the key BE09 5407 4B36 CBDE 8875 7E52 A9D2 608B 0DC7 6494), so that apt and the Software Updater offer new releases and Cogpit's Update button installs them after an administrator's password; delete /etc/apt/sources.list.d/cogpit.sources to stop that. Check the packages against SHA256SUMS (sha256sum -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS).

Download. Cogpit-0.48.2-macos-arm64.dmg is Cogpit for macOS on Apple silicon: open it and drag Cogpit into Applications. The command-line tool cogpit-cli comes inside the app, at /Applications/Cogpit.app/Contents/MacOS/cogpit-cli. Check the disk image against SHA256SUMS (shasum -a 256 -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS).

Signed and notarized. The app, its cogpit-cli and the disk image are signed with the Developer ID "Developer ID Application: Hans Fischer (6L57P2HXN6)" and notarized by Apple; the disk image carries its ticket, so macOS opens it without a warning, offline too. SHA256SUMS is not signed (docs/security/updates.md).

Windows. Cogpit-0.48.2-windows-x64-setup.exe is Cogpit for Windows 10 (1809) and 11 on x64 (ARM machines run it emulated): the desktop app, with the command-line tool cogpit-cli.exe beside it. The setup installs for your user without an administrator, into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Cogpit; /allusers installs for every user into Program Files, /S silently, /D=<folder> elsewhere. Cogpit updates itself through WinSparkle from its signed feed (https://guided-traffic.github.io/cogpit/appcast-windows.xml): the Update button, or Help › Check for Updates…. Check the setup against SHA256SUMS (in PowerShell: (Get-FileHash Cogpit-0.48.2-windows-x64-setup.exe).Hash).

Not signed with Authenticode yet. Windows SmartScreen warns when the setup is first opened: More info, then Run anyway. Updates are checked by WinSparkle against Cogpit's update key before they run (docs/security/updates.md).
