Download SDTally-1.0.3.dmg, open it and drag SDTally to Applications. Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or later.

SDTally is not notarized by Apple. On first launch, open System Settings > Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway".

SHA-256 of the DMG: 100b5cd518adafcc3b66c4e0c68e4d8bf7e1d0f6e165609ddeb30b72e456681f (check with shasum -a 256 SDTally-1.0.3.dmg).

What's new

  • Largest files (Disk, after a Full Measurement): sparse and compressed files are marked, with the size they appear to have next to the space they take.
  • Identical copies of large files (100 MB or more), compared byte by byte. Clones and hard links are not counted, and SDTally never deletes anything. New "Duplicate files" recommendation.
  • Growth pattern per folder in History: grows steadily, grows in spikes, stable or shrinking, with the measured GB per day.
  • CLI and MCP: sdtally --changes --json and the MCP tool what_changed show what changed between the two newest saved measurements.
  • Menu bar window with rounder corners; recommendation paths shown with ~.
