2.5.0 — Trust, CI Enforcement & Codex Live Verification (2026-07-02)

Added

  • Competitive analysis, v3 spec, and execution plan (#88) — docs/analysis/competitive-landscape-2026-07.md, docs/specs/v3-compatibility-and-growth-spec.md (12-gap register with severity/evidence/acceptance criteria, tier_1e Copilot proposal), and docs/plans/fix-plan-2026-07.md (18 dependency-ordered work items) plus the Wave 3 live-host handoff.
  • CI overhaul (#88, WI-07/08/09) — five jobs replace the 26-line manifest check: version agreement across the 6 release targets (scripts/check-version-agreement.js), profile schema validation with fixture behavior (scripts/check-profiles.js), authoring-rule lints and model-ID drift detection (scripts/check-authoring-rules.js), preload-budget report (scripts/report-preload-budget.js), the materialization-parity gate (scripts/check-materialization-parity.js reproduces all golden fixtures), guard-script chaining, and an installer smoke matrix on ubuntu/macos/windows.
  • README install table generator (#88, WI-01) — scripts/generate-install-docs.js renders the Quick-Start table from bin/install.js PLATFORMS with a --check CI mode; the unverified github: shorthand commands are gone.
  • CC materialization fixture (#88, WI-03) — fixtures/cc-materialize/ goldens prove TRANSLATE_CAD_TO_CC including the new effort: emission.
  • PRIVACY.md + manifest URL integrity (#88, WI-04) — the Codex manifest's dead privacyPolicyURL now resolves; the packager validates every manifest URL against the repo.
  • Monthly profile-drift review (#88, WI-10) — .github/workflows/profile-drift.yml opens a needs-triage checklist issue re-verifying each tier profile; cutting-a-release gates on it.
  • Tier 2 manual-install fallback (#88, WI-06) — the installer prints a copy-based fallback when the third-party skills CLI is unavailable.
  • Codex live-host verification transcripts (#89) — docs/agents/verification/codex-install-2026-07.md and codex-discovery-2026-07.md record WI-11/WI-12 probe evidence on Codex CLI 0.142.5.

Changed

  • PARITY_TESTING invariant (#88, WI-09) — upgraded from MANUAL_PHASE1 to TRANSLATION_AUTOMATED_DISPATCH_MANUAL; the CAD → native translation layer is now CI-gated.
  • PERMISSION_MODE invariant (#88, WI-02) — scoped to where Claude Code honors it: plugin-shipped agents enforce tools:/disallowedTools: only; materialized project-scope agents enforce permissionMode. New auditor criterion BUNDLE-08 guards the claim.
  • Antigravity moved to Roadmap (#88, WI-05) — the unverified Tier 1c row left the headline tier matrices; GEMINI.md stays (it is the file Antigravity loads at session start).
  • Codex agent TOML schema (live-verified) — TRANSLATE_CAD_TO_CODEX now emits the required description and scalar developer_instructions (live parser rejects instructions), no longer emits turn_limit (rejected as unknown field), and the tier_1d effort_emit_map is identity (low → low; live Codex fails minimal with exposed tools). Goldens, parity harness, packager validator, and references changed together.
  • Codex reviewer isolation is host-conditional — Probe D showed sandbox_mode = "read-only" unenforced on unsandboxed sessions (danger-full-access / hosts without sandbox helpers). tier_1d gains extensions.isolation_unsandboxed_warning and dispatch adds a mandatory runtime guard that degrades reviewer verdicts to advisory with the warning surfaced and stamped into metadata.isolation_warning; structural claims hold on sandbox-capable hosts.

Fixed

  • Claude Code effort capability drift (#88, WI-03) — tier_1 claimed CC had no effort field; effort_tier silently dropped on CC while Codex/OpenCode honored it. The profile and translator now emit effort:.
  • Stale model IDs in skill bodies (#88, WI-08) — claude-opus-4-7 lingering as the current deep model in sk-model-resolver, sk-dynamic-routing, running-a-pipeline's inline fallback, and the conventions table (also fast→haiku per profile); gemini-3.1-pro in the visual routing row; a missing ToC in agent-frontmatter-schema.md. Now lint-enforced.
  • Codex installer syntax verified (#89, WI-11) — codex plugin marketplace add + codex plugin add confirmed on a live host; the RELEASE-NOTES "unverified" caveat is retired.
