Release list
Verdandi 0.1.2
New since 0.1.1:
- Verdandi now tells you when there is a new version. At start, and once a day while it runs, it checks GitHub for the latest release and shows it on the window:
Download, Later or Skip This Version. Only the app's version is sent. You can switch it off in the Verdandi menu (Check for Updates Automatically), or check by hand with Check for Updates….
If you have 0.1.1, update by hand this one time: drag the new Verdandi onto Applications and replace the old one. Your scripts and audio in ~/norns stay as they are. From 0.1.2 on, Verdandi tells you itself.
Needs Apple silicon and macOS 15 or newer. First start: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway.

Verdandi 0.1.1
Fixes since 0.1.0:
- scripts that ask for a newer norns now run: Verdandi reports the norns release it contains (260819) instead of 000000
Needs Apple silicon and macOS 15 or newer. First start: System Settings › Privacy &
Security › Open Anyway.

Verdandi 0.1.0
The first release of Verdandi: norns, the sound computer by monome, running natively on macOS.
Standalone, and as an AUv3 plugin that puts norns into a DAW track.
Needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 15 (Sequoia) or newer.
Install
- Download
Verdandi.dmg, open it and drag Verdandi into Applications. - The app is not notarized, so macOS blocks the first start: open Verdandi once, close the
message, then System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway. If macOS says the app
is damaged:xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Verdandi.app - Allow the microphone. The AUv3 shows up in your DAW after the first start.
What's in it
- norns in a window: keys, encoders, the screen, the menu. Mouse, trackpad or keyboard
(123, return / space to confirm, esc to go back) - maiden and the community script catalog; SuperCollider engines, softcut, tape
- monome grid and arc, crow and MIDI over USB, plus a virtual grid, arc and MIDI keyboard
- input: MIC, SYS (the sound of every other app) or a single app, no loopback driver
- drop samples on the window; a script asking for a file opens the Finder
- the MIX page by mouse, an output fader with MUTE (double click: 0 dB)
- the AUv3: a DAW track goes into norns and comes back
- screenshots and GIFs of the screen
The manual (Manual.pdf) and the licenses of every part are in the dmg.
Early days
Tested on one Mac so far. Reports from other Macs, audio interfaces, monome hardware,
crow and DAWs are very welcome as issues; the
test checklist
says what to try.
An unofficial community port, not affiliated with monome. GPL-3.0.
