Finalpass 0.1.3 is a feature and usability release for the offline password manager for Windows 11 x64.

Changes since 0.1.2:

  • Unified saving. Applying an entry edit ("Apply changes" is now "Save
entry"), deleting an entry, and creating, renaming, or deleting a folder
now save the vault to disk immediately, instead of requiring a separate
Save step afterward. The toolbar Save button and Ctrl+S remain available
as a general-purpose way to persist anything still in progress (for
    example mid-edit field changes).
  • Modernized look and feel. Icon-only toolbar buttons, colored initial
avatars and a more prominent favorite star on each login row, rounded
selection highlighting, a sectioned entry editor (Login / Organization /
Notes / Custom fields), and brief on-screen confirmations when you save
    or copy a value.
  • Keyboard shortcuts help. A "Keyboard shortcuts…" item in the More
actions menu lists every shortcut, the right-click-to-copy tip, and the
    clipboard auto-clear duration.

Highlights:

  • Completely offline after installation.
  • Portable authenticated .fpass vault files.
  • Argon2id key derivation and XChaCha20-Poly1305 authenticated encryption through libsodium.
  • Search, sorting, folder and tag filters, favorites, custom fields, password and passphrase generation, backups, and automatic locking.
  • Persistent light and dark themes.
  • Current-user installer under %LocalAppData%; no administrator rights or UAC elevation required.
  • Portable ZIP, SPDX 2.2 SBOM, and SHA-256 checksums are included.

Installation:

  1. Download Finalpass-0.1.3-win-x64-setup.exe and SHA256SUMS.txt.
  2. Verify the installer SHA-256 checksum.
  3. Run the installer as a regular Windows user.

Important:

  • This release is not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen may show an unknown-publisher warning.
  • There is no password recovery or back door. Keep the master password and vault backups safe.
  • Finalpass has not received an independent security audit.
