Release list
v1.0.2
Ballast agent 1.0.2, the open-source component of Ballast.
What changed
- A shorter reconcile pass. Each pass runs its per-VM PowerShell work in one PowerShell process instead of starting one per VM, only writes a VM setting (VLAN, static MAC, MAC spoofing, automatic start action) when it differs from what the host already has, and reads network adapters, VLANs, guest IP addresses and integration services once per host instead of once per VM. Every VM is still checked on every pass.
- No false alarms during a planned shutdown. VMs on a host that Ballast is shutting down or rebooting no longer report Degraded while it happens.
- The Hyper-V backend by default. On Windows the agent now defaults to
-hyperv powershell. The development stub is only used when asked for with-hyperv stub, and says so in the agent log. An agent already installed on the stub keeps it until it is updated from the console. - A doc comment correction on
HostSpec.ManagementIP. Comment only, soapi/stays at v0.3.0.

v1.0.1
Ballast agent 1.0.1, the open-source component of Ballast.
What changed
- Format a volume in place. A new job reformats a lettered volume and keeps its drive letter, alongside the existing whole-disk format.
- Disk identity on volumes. The agent now reports, for each lettered volume, which physical disk backs it and whether that disk also carries the boot or system partition.
StorageVolumegainsDiskUniqueIDandSharesDiskWithOS. A data volume carved from spare space on the OS's own disk (D: or I: on some hosts) can now be formatted safely, because the check is against the volume's own partition and not the whole disk. - Release version tag. The agent carries a marker so a release's version can be read from the compiled file. This is what lets the tooling that installs an agent binary identify which version it is holding.

v1.0.0
First public release of the Ballast agent — a declarative agent for Hyper-V hosts and failover clusters, and the open-source component of Ballast.
The agent runs as a Windows service on each Hyper-V host, pulls its desired state from a Ballast centre, and keeps reconciling towards it even when the centre is offline (see the desired-state and autonomy model).
