[1.9.2] - 2026-06-29 - Bugfixes

Bugfix release after 1.9.1: editor and copy/paste fixes, AI reliability
(rate-limit handling and OpenAI Pro-model routing), and build housekeeping.

Fixed

  • Save As renames the tab. Saving a document under a new name (File -> Save as...) updated the window title but left the old filename on its tab, which was confusing when you'd deliberately saved under a new name. The tab - in whichever editor group holds the document - now updates to the new filename too.
  • OpenAI "Pro" models now work in Simple Mode. Pro models (such as gpt-5.5 Pro) are served only by OpenAI's Responses API; the regular chat endpoint returns "HTTP 404" for them. Simple Mode always used the chat endpoint, so a Pro model failed there even though Agent Mode worked. Pro models are now routed to the Responses API in both modes, including the connection test in Settings.
  • Pasting a clipboard that mixes tempo / time-signature / key-signature changes with notes now keeps the right timing. Such a mixed paste could place the notes on the wrong ticks; notes-only pastes were always correct. The skip-already-present guard now works for these mixed pastes too, instead of being turned off for them.
  • Authentic-SID track mute follows tracks added after a file is opened. Muting a track that was added later in the session now updates its authentic-SID voice live during playback, like the tracks present when the file was opened.
  • MCP resource reads match the document the tools edit. For external MCP clients, reading midi://state / midi://tracks / midi://config now describes the same document the session's tools act on, so reads and edits stay consistent after switching tabs.

Changed

  • AI requests survive brief rate limits and hiccups. When the AI provider replies with a rate limit (HTTP 429) or a temporary error (408/425/5xx, or a network blip), the app now retries up to three times with a growing back-off, and honours the provider's Retry-After hint when one is sent - so short throttling recovers on its own instead of failing on the first try. A very long requested wait (e.g. an hourly quota) is surfaced instead of hanging. A genuine out-of-quota error (the provider's insufficient_quota) is now shown straight away - with the provider's own message - instead of being retried three times, since retrying it cannot succeed. Error messages now name the provider and make clear that a persistent rate limit is your account's quota, not an app bug. A rate limit that lands mid-stream also no longer disables live streaming for the rest of the session - that fallback now lasts only until the limit clears.

Internal

  • Removed the unused legacy build and installer infrastructure: the old qmake (midieditor.pro) and xmake (xmake.lua) project files, the macOS icon and the superseded top-level icon, the disabled CI workflows, and the Qt Installer Framework component layout (packaging/, scripts/packaging/, the CMake installer target). The project builds with CMake and ships as a portable ZIP.
  • CI: replaced the Node-based MSVC setup action with a direct vcvars64 environment import, removing a third-party dependency and the Node 20 deprecation warning.
