The final product for the project is an educational mathematics game. The application should help people who want to perform faster mental arithmetic and should teach players different mental arithmetic tricks.
Create an educational mathematics game that is:
- Accessible across all devices, does not need to be downloaded, and does not require the user to have specialised knowledge in order to get started.
- Free at the point of use and does not include invasive advertising.
- Effective in improving the player's speed at which they can perform mental arithmetic.
- Visually appealing to use with a minimalist design, that does not pass the impression of being retro or clunky in most users.
The game should be useable by people of all ages, but it is primarily for students of mathematics. On a secondary level, it will be useful to anyone who wants to perform mental arithmetic more quickly, such as professionals who work with arithmetic and competitive mental arithmeticians.
The final product will include:
- A variety of difficulty levels for players of different skills.
- A logical scoring system that has different weights for each of the variables, including elapsed time, difficulty level, and number of equations solved.
- A way of comparing the player's scores across time.
- A persistent record of the player's scores across sessions.
- A "Create Account" facility.
- A database for storing usernames and passwords.
