Release Notes
Added
- Shared credentials via a broker (
auth.remote_endpoint + synaps auth-broker).
Many machines share ONE OAuth credential without copying it to each disk — both
Anthropic and OpenAI/codex tokens route through the broker. On a client, set
auth.remote_endpoint (+ auth.machine_token, or env SYNAPS_AUTH_ENDPOINT /
SYNAPS_MACHINE_TOKEN) and it fetches short-lived access tokens from a broker
instead of reading/refreshing the local auth.json. Clients hold only access
tokens in memory — never a refresh token, never written to disk; the broker is
the single refresher. Run the broker with synaps auth-broker on a trusted
host (--machine-token-file, behind WireGuard or a TLS-terminating proxy).
Closes the agentic-VM bootstrap: guests authenticate with zero credentials on
their own disk.
- Security: constant-time machine-token compare, provider allowlist,
in-flight rate cap, refuses unauthenticated non-loopback start, graceful
shutdown, redacting Debug on secrets, on-401 refetch+retry, clock-skew
defense (ttl_ms), token validation, and a systemd unit at
deploy/synaps-auth-broker.service.
- ToS: intended for sharing one account across YOUR OWN machines. Sharing a
subscription seat across users / a large fleet risks account suspension — use
org/enterprise API keys at scale. See the README.
Fixed
- Flaky test isolation in
synaps-tui (#137). Config-env tests (config
migration + plugin actions) raced on SYNAPS_BASE_DIR/HOME through two
independent locks, causing intermittent failures in parallel cargo test runs
only. Unified all config-env tests under one shared test lock; verified green
across repeated parallel runs.
