Bug? Leading spaces required to make MathJax work. #704

Description

Consider the following comment block:

    -- 1. __Title__.
    -- \(1\times 12345\).
    --
    -- * Some text \(2\times 12345\).
    -- * Some text
    -- \(3\times 12345\).
    -- * Some text
    -- \(4\times 12345\).
    --
    -- 2. __Title__.

The "one times ...", "two times ...", and "four times ..." formulae are displayed correctly. "three times ...", however, is not. The only difference between third and fourth example are two leading spaces. This can't be the intended behavior, or can it?
