v2.22.8
It tells you what just changed
Nex used to update silently and leave you guessing. Now, the first time you open the update button after an update, you get a What's New view with the highlights of the release — plus a Good to know box with the hidden gestures most people never find.
What changed
- What's New view: After an update, the update button turns into a "What's new" entry (once per version). Opening it shows what changed in plain words, fetched from the release notes. Dismiss it and everything goes back to normal.
- Media volume control: The media view (Tab while music plays) now has a volume slider and mute button in the transport row, styled to match. Arrow keys nudge it while the view is open.
- Media view stopped dying on odd sources: Sessions from random apps or closed tabs used to freeze and crash the overlay. Dead sessions are now skipped, the view only opens for live playback, and a stuck read can't pile up background work anymore.
Bug Fixes
- Pressing Tab while a random non-Spotify source played could freeze and crash the overlay.
- Seeking on live streams or unsupported sources no longer hangs.
