First public beta of the modern macOS Quick Look App Extension. This release targets Apple Silicon and requires macOS 12 or later.

Highlights

  • Interactive GLB/glTF previews with the native Quick Look background in Light and Dark Mode.
  • Finder thumbnails for GLB files and sidecar-based glTF documents.
  • Automatic cache preparation for Downloads and folders selected from the GLTFQL menu.
  • Compatibility processing for dense Sketchfab scenes, Unreal materials/textures, and oversized uModel characters.
  • Compact character caches preserve the first 10 animation clips while leaving source files unchanged.
  • Reduced memory growth and targeted folder rescans.

Install

  1. Download the Apple Silicon ZIP attached below.
  2. Move GLTFQuickLook.app to /Applications and open it.
  3. If Gatekeeper blocks this ad hoc signed beta, use System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway.
  4. Keep the GLTFQL menu-bar app running; add model libraries with Ajouter des dossiers....
