@heeetz heeetz released this 25 Oct 12:47

HeetKit v1.4.2

This pre-release adds DeepSeek alongside Gemini, saved AI connections and model
controls, and a clearer operator activity view on Desktop and Server. These changes
build on the previous stable release, v1.4.1. This is a pre-release for testing.

What's New

  • DeepSeek support: Use the direct DeepSeek API for AI chat and the Desktop
Playground, with its own securely stored key, model discovery and saved settings.
Gemini remains available, and ordinary Twitch commands still work without AI.
  • Saved AI setup: Manage connected providers and choose primary and optional
fallback models from one AI setup section on Desktop or Server. Each selection
keeps its own provider, model, thinking and search settings. Cross-provider fallback
requires an explicit acknowledgement before questions and permitted context can
    be sent to another provider.
  • Thinking and Internet search: Configure supported model capabilities, including
bounded DeepSeek Search/Fetch requests. Provider support and charges apply; unknown
model IDs do not gain invented capabilities. Gemini grounded output is withheld
where its required Search Suggestions cannot be displayed in plain Twitch chat.
  • Editable shared instructions: Save profile-wide AI instructions separately from
model choices, personality prompts and profile instructions. Configure question and
answer limits together in AI setup, with options to restore the shared defaults.
  • Operator activity: Follow command attempts, AI processing and outgoing replies
through linked events in Logs, with clearer distinctions between confirmed,
failed and uncertain sends. The authenticated Server panel uses the same activity
    information as Desktop.
  • Larger random response pools: Custom commands can store up to 30 responses.

Improvements & Fixes

  • One shared AI pipeline applies language, filtering, privacy, cancellation and output
rules across Gemini and DeepSeek. Fallback remains limited to a model-unavailable
response, rather than retrying authentication, billing or network failures elsewhere.
  • Reworked AI setup and Twitch Settings with aligned fields, clearer credential
actions, separate save boundaries and compact help on both hosts.
  • Fixed Dashboard setup summaries that looked incomplete after configuration, aligned
the resumed setup guide and corrected narrow-screen Server operation controls.
  • Fixed missing AI and Settings stylesheets in the Docker build context.
  • Added a private Linux release-update helper with stopped-profile backups and
explicit rollback compatibility checks. Deployment remains an operator action.
  • Separated quick checks, full validation, candidate builds and publication, with
immutable candidate evidence and checksums. Updated setup and provider guides.

Updating

Back up the existing profile first. Quit Windows Desktop fully through tray Exit
before installing or replacing portable files. Existing profiles and credentials
remain supported. Add DeepSeek keys separately; configuration transfer excludes
credentials and clears imported cross-provider fallback consent until acknowledged
again on the destination. The AI Playground remains Desktop-only.

For Server, follow the Docker update and backup procedure.
Keep the same Compose project, persistent volume, external secrets and architecture;
retain the previous image for compatible rollback. Run only one instance per Twitch
bot account. This release does not automatically update a running server.

Windows downloads remain unsigned and retain the existing .NET Framework and
WebView2 requirements. Publication remains subject to the recorded
redistribution requirements.

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Oct 19:02

HeetKit v1.4.1

HeetKit now supports a headless Linux/Docker Server alongside Windows Desktop,
with private browser management, persistent operation modes and saved channels.
These changes build on the previous stable release, v1.3.0.

What's New

  • HeetKit Server: Run the shared backend without a desktop window in native
AMD64 or ARM64 containers, with a persistent profile for settings and authorization.
Windows Desktop keeps its local window, tray controls and AI Playground.
  • Private browser management: Configure Twitch and OAuth, commands, AI,
filters and credentials from an authenticated panel. Remote access uses private
Tailscale HTTPS or an SSH tunnel; no public management endpoint is required.
  • Persistent operation modes: Always On, Stream Only, Manual and Disabled
control Server connectivity across restarts. Manual starts stopped.
  • Saved Server channels: Create, rename, update and delete named targets in
Settings. Selecting or saving a preset leaves the bot unchanged; Switch explicitly
applies it while retaining the bot account, credentials and valid OAuth.
  • Server command availability: Limit built-in or custom commands to live or
offline streams, independently of the connection mode. Anytime remains the default.
  • Configuration transfer: Preview and import portable commands, personalities,
AI preferences, filters and reactions between Desktop and Server. Secrets, OAuth,
history, privacy opt-outs and the destination operation mode remain separate.

Improvements & Fixes

  • Manual broadcaster commands work when the same Twitch account runs the bot.
Outgoing message IDs prevent response loops and accidental AI requests from
command listings, including concurrent sends and EventSub replays.
  • Public command help reflects enabled built-ins, aliases and custom commands.
  • Built-in editors separate Enabled from aligned permission, availability and
cooldown fields, with stacking on narrow screens and preserved keyboard controls.
  • Clearer Server Twitch setup, browser OAuth completion and private diagnostics;
improved local browser compatibility and configurable loopback management.
  • Simpler primary/fallback model selectors, improved command focus and scrolling,
and configurable Tg repeat limits with duplicate-burst protection.
  • Updated runtime/build dependencies and CA trust, with native AMD64/ARM64
container checks. pip's separately vendored urllib3 advisories remain documented
    in Security.

Updating

Back up the existing profile first. Quit Windows Desktop fully through tray Exit
before installing or replacing portable files. Existing profiles, settings and
credentials remain compatible. Windows downloads are unsigned and retain the
existing .NET Framework and WebView2 requirements.

For Server, follow the Docker update and backup procedure:
stop the container, back up the whole persistent volume and external secrets privately,
retain the previous image, then rebuild/recreate with the same Compose project,
volume and architecture. Never delete the volume during an update. Manual and
Disabled stay disconnected after recreation. Keep Tailscale Serve private.
Run only one instance per Twitch bot account.

Windows binary publication remains subject to the recorded
redistribution requirements;
passing build and notice checks alone does not resolve those obligations.

v1.3.0…v1.4.1

v1.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 01:57

HeetKit v1.3.0

This release adds local privacy controls and automatic data retention, with a more
compact interface, clearer setup and AI editing, and improved reliability.

What's New

  • Automatic Data Retention: Successful AI exchanges are retained for up to
90 days, while only the 5 most recent exchanges per viewer are sent to
Gemini as conversation context. Viewer records expire after 180 days of
    inactivity
    .
  • Manual Privacy Requests: Operator tooling can delete a viewer's local records
or apply a persistent storage opt-out. Opt-outs prevent future viewer/history
storage and suppress related application chat diagnostics, without adding new
    chat commands.

Improvements & Fixes

  • Redesigned Dashboard and AI overview with compact status panels, clearer
connection states, and easier access to conversation memory and Gemini controls.
  • Unified styling, keyboard-accessible accordion headers, and question-mark help
across Commands, Filters, AI, and Settings. Improved tooltip placement and dismissal.
  • Improved responsive layouts, sidebar scrolling, editor footers, and update controls
so fields and actions fit smaller windows more cleanly.
  • !ask enablement now persists across restarts and stays synchronized across
Dashboard, AI, and Commands without saving unrelated command drafts.
  • Clearer Twitch setup separates required configuration, authorization, and optional
Gemini setup, with explicit restart feedback after identity or secret changes.
  • Clearer AI save boundaries, language and model controls, personality editing, and
draft choices before opening Playground. Simplified command editing and built-in
recovery, with clearer filter feedback and navigation labels.
  • AI blocking now reports timeouts and cancellation. Reaction files accept UTF-8
with or without a BOM, with clearer loading errors that preserve existing files.
  • AI replies that Twitch does not deliver are no longer recorded as successful
    conversation history.
  • Updated setup, command, and privacy guides, expanded regression coverage, and
streamlined Windows CI dependency downloads and browser setup.

Updating

Exit HeetKit completely through tray Exit before installing the new version.
Existing profiles, credentials, and settings are preserved. The new retention policy
automatically removes expired AI history and inactive viewer records, including when
conversation memory is off. Manual privacy requests are handled by the bot operator;
!erase remains limited to AI memory.
