Gitnado v0.9.1
A new icon, everywhere
The Gitnado icon was cut off in the macOS Dock: it shipped as a full-bleed tile with none of the transparent margin Apple's icon grid reserves, so it rendered about a fifth larger than its neighbours and overflowed its slot. Every icon is now built from the one art master by a dedicated build, tuned for where it is shown:
macOS — sits on Apple's 824/1024 grid with the template's soft shadow, at every size the Dock, Finder, app switcher and DMG use.
Windows — every size the taskbar and Explorer ask for at 100–250% scaling, crisp at 16–32px.
Linux — the 512px icon is now shipped for HiDPI docks instead of an upscaled 256.
All platforms — the outline band around the tile is gone, small sizes are sharpened so the tornado stays legible, resampling no longer leaves a dark fringe on light desktops, and the colours are a touch richer. The website and the welcome screen use the same art.
Fixes
Wide histories no longer push the commit list off screen. A repository with dozens of unmerged branches laid out more graph lanes than the canvas was wide, and the message, author and date columns went with them. The graph now lives in a bounded column that scrolls sideways on its own — trackpad, shift+wheel, Left/Right arrows, a native scrollbar and a resize handle — with ◂ N more / N more ▸ hints for lanes out of view, while the text columns stay put (#542).
Under the hood
A contract test rebuilds every icon from the master on each npm test and compares the committed files pixel for pixel, then checks each on its own terms (safe-area margins, shadow, full-bleed, ICO size set). CI strips the runner image's unused third-party apt sources by host before every apt-get update, so a broken Chrome or Microsoft mirror no longer fails a build. Release builds run in their own concurrency group, so a push to main can no longer cancel one mid-build (#541), and the first winget submission is generated from rendered manifests (#539).

Gitnado v0.9.0
Leviathan is now Gitnado
Same app, same code, same signing key — new name, new icon, new home at gitnado.dev. Existing installs keep their settings, credentials, repository rules and downloaded AI models: everything Leviathan stored is adopted on first launch. See Upgrading from Leviathan for the details and per-platform notes.
- Windows (MSI) upgrades your Leviathan install in place. NSIS
.exeusers: install Gitnado, then uninstall Leviathan from Apps & features — your data is not in the install directory. - macOS: drag
Gitnado.appto Applications and deleteLeviathan.app. - Linux: the package is now
gitnado; removeleviathanwith your package manager.
New delivery channels
winget install hegsie.Gitnado(Windows)brew install --cask hegsie/gitnado/gitnado(macOS, Apple Silicon)- Scoop manifest:

Highlights
- Real cancellation and progress for fetch, pull and push — object counts and bytes as the transfer runs, and a Cancel button that actually stops it.
- Native menu bar, toolbar remote buttons, and a filter for the working-tree Changes list.
- Open in terminal, file manager or editor from the repository, and File history / Blame from the Changes context menu.
- Commit trailers, merge preview, and confirmation before replacing merge resolutions or bulk-deleting branches.
- Window size, position and maximised state are remembered across launches.
- MCP server now requires a bearer token; the settings dialog shows a ready-to-paste client config.
- Offline mode is enforced for AI providers and avatar fetches, backed by a Rust-side network gate.
Accessibility and polish
- Follows OS high-contrast settings for the graph colour scheme; honours reduced motion; a visible keyboard focus ring; every toggle switch has an accessible name.
- Graph empty state and retry for failed commit loads.
- Diff actions can no longer act on a stale selection after switching commits.
Fixes
- Interactive rebase editor runs correctly on Windows; rebases with already-applied commits no longer fail.
- Staged work is protected during cherry-pick and revert.
- Fetch remote selection, tag push destinations, tag checkout refs from the graph, duplicate Git Flow squash commits on retry.
- Repository OAuth token refresh, managed credentials for remote prune, workspace literal search and partial failures.
- Command palette and graph context menus after switching repositories; watcher events classified relative to
.git; Windows file-manager reveal.
Under the hood
Rust MSRV corrected to match the dependency tree; an IPC contract test guards frontend/backend command drift; CSP hardening; @lit/localize; a macOS CI job and a production-only npm audit gate; unused dependencies and dead UI state removed.
