New Features

• Claude Desktop Integration: Added seamless integration with Claude Desktop through .mcpb extension files. Use helpmetest install mcp and select "Claude Desktop" to create a one-click installation package that adds HelpMeTest MCP server directly to Claude Desktop.
• Universal MCP Config: New "Other (.mcp.json config)" option creates standard MCP configuration files that AI tools can automatically discover when placed in project folders. Perfect for any AI assistant that supports MCP auto-discovery.
• Cross-Platform Claude Detection: Improved Claude Desktop detection works reliably across macOS, Windows, and Linux using proper Node.js file system APIs instead of shell commands.

• Enhanced MCP Manifest: .mcpb files now include comprehensive metadata with proper tool descriptions, keywords, compatibility info, and detailed feature documentation for better discoverability in Claude Desktop's extension marketplace.
• Dynamic Version Management: MCP extension manifests automatically use the correct CLI version from helpmetest --version, ensuring consistency between development and compiled binary releases.
• Better Installation UX: Reorganized MCP installation options with Claude Desktop first, followed by Claude Code, VSCode, Cursor, and "Other" for .mcp.json config files.

Bug Fixes

• Fast-Fail Health Checks: Reduced API timeout from 30s to 3s for faster health check responses and better user experience.

Manual Installation

1. Download the binary for your platform:

   • Linux x86_64: helpmetest-cli_Linux_x86_64.tar.gz
   • Linux ARM64: helpmetest-cli_Linux_arm64.tar.gz
   • Linux i386: helpmetest-cli_Linux_i386.tar.gz
   • macOS ARM64 (Apple Silicon): helpmetest-cli_Darwin_arm64.tar.gz
   • macOS x86_64 (Intel): helpmetest-cli_Darwin_x86_64.tar.gz
   • Windows x86_64: helpmetest-cli_Windows_x86_64.zip
   • Windows ARM64: helpmetest-cli_Windows_arm64.zip
   • Windows i386: helpmetest-cli_Windows_i386.zip

2. Extract and install:

   Linux/macOS:

   tar -xzf helpmetest-cli_*.tar.gz
   sudo mv helpmetest /usr/local/bin/

   Windows:

   • Extract the .zip file
   • Move helpmetest.exe to a directory in your PATH

3. Verify installation:

   helpmetest --version
