New Features

• MCP Heartbeat Mechanism: Added active listening indicator that proves AI assistants are actively waiting for user messages. Heartbeat messages sent every 30 seconds during idle listening show real-time connection status, eliminating uncertainty about whether the assistant is still responsive.
• Proxy Connection Retry Logic: Enhanced proxy tunnel resilience with automatic retry on connection failures. Retries up to 3 times with exponential backoff when frpc client fails to start, dramatically improving tunnel stability on flaky networks.

Improvements

• Enhanced Fake Server Design: Updated proxy fake server UI to match helpmetest.com aesthetic with black backgrounds, glassmorphism effects, green accents (#5aff28), and SF Pro Text typography. Creates a cohesive brand experience across all HelpMeTest interfaces.

Bug Fixes

• JSON-RPC Protocol Compliance: Fixed critical stdout pollution bug where non-JSON output was breaking MCP protocol communication. MCP server now properly routes all logs to stderr, ensuring clean JSON-RPC messages on stdout for reliable AI assistant integration.
• Proxy Port Configuration: Corrected port configuration validation to properly use PROXY_PORT environment variable instead of hardcoded values, fixing tunnel connectivity issues when custom ports are specified.

Manual Installation

1. Download the binary for your platform:

   • Linux x86_64: helpmetest-cli_Linux_x86_64.tar.gz
   • Linux ARM64: helpmetest-cli_Linux_arm64.tar.gz
   • Linux i386: helpmetest-cli_Linux_i386.tar.gz
   • macOS ARM64 (Apple Silicon): helpmetest-cli_Darwin_arm64.tar.gz
   • macOS x86_64 (Intel): helpmetest-cli_Darwin_x86_64.tar.gz
   • Windows x86_64: helpmetest-cli_Windows_x86_64.zip
   • Windows ARM64: helpmetest-cli_Windows_arm64.zip
   • Windows i386: helpmetest-cli_Windows_i386.zip

2. Extract and install:

   Linux/macOS:

   tar -xzf helpmetest-cli_*.tar.gz
   sudo mv helpmetest /usr/local/bin/

   Windows:

   • Extract the .zip file
   • Move helpmetest.exe to a directory in your PATH

3. Verify installation:

   helpmetest --version
