@prmod3d, this is in 1.51.0: with the workplane tool, a click on the empty plate now puts the workplane at that spot (on the snap grid), and new shapes and finished sketches - a revolved one too - appear there instead of in the middle. A click beside the plate still resets it. Here is how it works. |

When using and exiting Sketch Revolve, the location of the new object defaults to the center of the Workspace. This results in the Revolve object often getting lost (or buried) within other existing objects on the Workspace. Could some method similar to Tinkercad be implemented?
In Tinkercad, the placement of the Revolve Sketch is initially determined by dropping a top-shaped object where you want it to be prior to entering Sketch mode -- anywhere on the main Workspace or attached and auto-aligned to the face of another object -- and that's where the Revolve object remains when exiting Sketch mode.
Currently, I can force a Revolve Sketch onto the face of another object by first applying a new Workspace to the face, and the resulting Revolve object will end up where expected; but creating a new Workspace on the existing Workspace just defaults to the existing Workspace and the Revolve object again is automatically centered, regardless of what other objects might exist there as well.
