@willi1955 thank you for the idea. I am not sure yet what exactly should change, so a question: in the revolve sketch of layerling you draw half of the cross-section to the left of a vertical axis, and a 3D preview runs beside it. What do you see in Tinkercad that you would like to have here? Is it that the other objects of your design stay visible while you draw, or that the sketch lies flat on the plate and is seen from above, or something else? A screenshot of Tinkercad's revolve sketch would help me a lot. |

Just to be clear, I am also just a regular user trying to help out!I think this difference comes down to how both tools are implemented:In Tinkercad: The revolve tool is a pre-built shape in the toolbox that you drag onto the workplane (like a cube or cylinder). Tinkercad automatically handles and aligns the orientation for you when you place it.In Layerling: Revolve is implemented as a sketch-based feature. Because of this, you first need to explicitly define the sketch orientation by placing a new Workplane on the desired face before starting the revolve sketch.Once you place that vertical Workplane in Layerling, the 2D sketch properly aligns to the side cross-section view, as shown in my bottom screenshot. |

Uh oh!

I have noticed that when using the sketch-based revolve mode in TinkerCAD, all objects are displayed in the ZX view, whereas Layerling displays them in the XY view. TinkerCAD’s approach seems more logical to me, given that the sketch for a revolved object also lies on the ZX plane.
