@heranliu heranliu released this 30 Sep 12:00

AlphaResearchOS v0.5.0 improves the local research workbench with two themes, data inspection before import, and stronger model connection checks.

Highlights

  • Dark and light themes: first use follows the system; a manual choice is remembered. Charts, settings, the factor library, backtests, and import previews follow the selected palette.
  • Inspect before importing: preview asset coverage, common dates, duplicate or missing records, and research/backtest eligibility. Import only after confirmation.
  • Compatible API presets: DeepSeek, Gemini's compatibility endpoint, Ollama, and custom endpoints. Select your own model ID; connection tests validate a structured research proposal and executable expressions.
  • More reliable operation: shared bounded API transport, explicit protocol errors, credential isolation when changing endpoints, and correct status messages after resuming an experiment.
  • Expanded verification: protocol and market-data fixtures, real Chromium workflows, and installation of the built wheel into an isolated environment. Provider compatibility tests use simulated responses; model availability and behavior remain provider-specific.

Install and run

Python 3.11–3.13 on macOS/Linux, or WSL2 on Windows.

For the source ZIP, extract it, enter the AlphaResearchOS directory, and run:

uv sync --locked
uv run alphaos serve

Or install the attached wheel in a Python virtual environment:

python -m pip install ./alpharesearchos-0.5.0-py3-none-any.whl
alphaos serve

Open http://127.0.0.1:8765, import your OHLCV CSV, and configure a model connection.

Validation

  • Local suite: 607 tests and 29 subtests passed, including 7 Chromium end-to-end tests.
  • Release CI: all 7 jobs passed, covering macOS/Linux on Python 3.11, 3.12, and 3.13, plus Chromium.
  • Built wheel installation, CLI startup, and bundled browser assets verified in an isolated environment.
