Bridge Finder-dropped images / clipboard image paste on local sessions (not just --remote) #1749

This also affects workflows that alternate between local and remote attachments to the same persistent session. Ideally image paste uses the clipboard of whichever Herdr client receives the paste action: the development machine when local, and the connecting client under |

Are you by chance using Ghostty? It doesn't work for Ghostty, but does for iTerm 2 for me. Could be an issue with Ghostty itself rather than herdr. |

Yea I was using Ghostty, that was the blocker.

Using Warp or Terminal.app in local herdr Command-V doesn't work: Warp does nothing (not even a beep), Terminal beeps and does nothing. herdr --remote works fine, as expected, as it worked locally in older herdr versions. It's pretty frustrating to have an inconsistent experience between local and remote. I can understand if the default needs to stay broken because of some interoperability issue that I don't care about but others do, but it would be lovely to have an override to make it consistent! |

idea / problem
be able to drag screenshots into Herdr
requested change
On a local (non-remote) session I can't drag a screenshot into the pane like I can in a plain terminal — nothing lands. The --remote client already bridges Finder-dropped images and clipboard image paste; it'd be great to have the same on local sessions, ideally opt-in so it doesn't change Ctrl+V for Vim users or require turning off mouse capture. Use case: dropping screenshots into a Claude Code agent pane. macOS, herdr 0.7.4.
