The current workflow feels awkward because I want to use Herdr primarily with the keyboard, but I still don’t remember many shortcuts. At the same time, the status bar does not show all available actions, so discoverability is limited when I try to stay keyboard-only.

I want Herdr to support a keyboard-first, searchable action/help surface where I can:

• see a comprehensive list of available actions and their shortcuts,
• filter that list quickly from the keyboard,
• execute actions directly from that list,

why you want this

This helps me in two ways:

• Learn shortcuts over time: I can discover and memorize keybindings naturally while using the app.
• Stay keyboard-only immediately: Even before I memorize shortcuts, I can still access actions without switching to mouse or relying on incomplete status bar hints.

Really interested in this. It will be very useful to search through the keyboard shortcuts.

+1 on this. The read-only prefix+? help panel is great for reference but the missing piece is executing actions from it, so I never have to remember or exit-and-retry a shortcut.

@gsobczyk's #821 looks like a nice minimal-footprint direction: instead of adding a separate command-palette mode, it upgrades the existing keybind-help overlay into an interactive surface (/ to filter across label + group + shortcut, keyboard/mouse navigation, Enter/click to run), and only lists commands executable in the current context. Keeping it as the same ? overlay backed by a shared command catalog + can_execute check feels more consistent with Herdr's existing modal patterns than a VSCode-style standalone palette.
