+1 on this. The read-only @gsobczyk's #821 looks like a nice minimal-footprint direction: instead of adding a separate command-palette mode, it upgrades the existing keybind-help overlay into an interactive surface ( References:

idea / problem
The current workflow feels awkward because I want to use Herdr primarily with the keyboard, but I still don’t remember many shortcuts. At the same time, the status bar does not show all available actions, so discoverability is limited when I try to stay keyboard-only.
