Everyday prompts first. The library now opens with the things most people come for: plan a trip, eat healthier, write an email, make a budget, find a job, fix a bug and more.

What's new:

  • 24 front doors shown first everywhere: Plan a trip, Eat healthier, Get fit, Sleep better, Make a budget, Write an email, Find a job, Write a resume or CV, Learn something new, Help me decide, Talk it through, What to cook tonight, Find a gift, Summarize anything, Plan an event or party, Write a social media post, Fix a tech problem, Understand a letter or form, Fix a bug, Build a feature, plus Plan my week, Write a speech, Explain a concept at a chosen level and Review a pull request. Each one works from a blank page: it asks two or three questions when it needs to, does the job, then points you to the specialist prompts.
  • A "Start here" prompt in every category. Every one of the 182 categories now shows its general starting point first, then the more specific and advanced prompts. 79 new starting-point prompts were written for categories that lacked one.
  • Search understands everyday words. "trip", "diet", "cv", "gift for mum", "my wifi is not working" or "plan a 5-day trip to Lisbon" now lead straight to the right prompt, with the closest specialists next. Searches that match nothing word for word now show the closest prompts instead of nothing.
  • Browse by what you want to do (Write, Plan, Learn, Decide, Fix, Create, Talk it through, Code) and by topic (Travel, Food, Money, Health, Family, Career, Learning, Software, Work, Life).
  • Health, money and legal prompts are marked so apps can show a care notice next to them.
  • The library now has 10,241 entries.

Catalog 2026.1004.2

@gabrielanhaia gabrielanhaia released this 04 Oct 08:32

Hodios becomes the prompt library inside Hermes IDE. Every built-in template, role and style that Hermes IDE 2.0 shipped now opens a Hodios entry, and 33 new entries cover the jobs the library did not do yet. The library now has 3,634 open prompts, personas, workflows, rules and styles: 1,996 are in the curated tier and 1,638 are verified. The catalog is signed, as in the last three releases. All content is CC0-1.0.

New in this release

  • 26 prompts for engineering and product work: apply a design pattern only where it removes complexity, replace loose types with precise ones, improve an algorithm's complexity, audit an app against the OWASP Top 10, audit how untrusted input is handled, refactor a test suite without losing coverage, review a codebase's architecture, review an API design, find service boundaries, write an architecture overview, map a user flow, find and fix latent bugs (each one proven by a failing test), audit code for SOC 2, GDPR or HIPAA controls, plan scaling for a service, assess technical debt, plan team capacity, design a CI/CD pipeline, write an incident response plan, explain a piece of code, design a revenue model, map a subscription lifecycle, plan expansion revenue, audit a product for data protection, choose a software licence, write an end user licence agreement and write SEO landing page copy.
  • 5 personas (215 in all): a full-stack engineer, a refactoring specialist, an API designer, a concurrency specialist and a technology-law guide.
  • 2 styles (35 in all): Code first, which leads with code instead of prose, and Balanced, which lays out the options and their trade-offs.

Merged: Hermes IDE 2.0 built-ins

Hermes IDE 2.0 shipped 145 built-in templates, roles and styles. Each old id is now an alias of the Hodios entry that does the same job, or the id of a new entry, so saved sessions, presets and links that name an old id keep working. The 91 entries that gained an alias each got a patch version and a changelog line naming the old ids. Their text did not change.

Not in this release

  • No entry was renamed or removed, and every id from earlier releases still resolves.
  • The new entries are verified, not curated: the curated tier is full, so install them with npx @hermes-hq/hodios install <id>. Hermes IDE and hodios search find them like any other entry.
  • The project-aware search fix for the CLI is still waiting to be published to npm.
  • None of the entries is stable yet, because their evaluations have not been run.

  • hodios-catalog-v1-2026.1004.2.tar.gz: the searchable catalog with every entry in both tiers.

Catalog 2026.1004.1

@gabrielanhaia gabrielanhaia released this 04 Oct 04:52

Hodios grows to 3,601 open prompts, personas, workflows, rules and styles: 174 entries are new since 2026.1004.0. 1,996 of them are in the curated tier and 1,605 are verified. The catalog is signed, as in the last two releases. All content is CC0-1.0.

New in this release

  • 161 prompts, all in the searchable catalog. Find them with npx @hermes-hq/hodios search and install any of them with npx @hermes-hq/hodios install <id>.
  • 7 personas (210 in all) and 6 multi-step workflows (111).
  • Eleven new categories to browse by: play-along simulations, films, books and fandom, hobbies and pastimes, crafts and making, amateur sport, personal style, shopping decisions, religion and spirituality, security operations, video generation and nonfiction books. Seven entries that were waiting for a home moved into them (knitting, sewing and woodworking projects, team seasons, youth practices, nonfiction outlines and book proposals), and the video-generation prompt moved from image generation. Their ids did not change, so nothing you installed breaks.

What's new, by domain

  • Gaming and fun (81). Play-along games the assistant runs with you: an escape room, a mystery case, a startup, a courtroom trial, a city, a restaurant service, mission control, an election, a supply chain, an age-of-sail voyage and more. Films, books, music and podcasts picked from your taste, spoiler-safe catch-ups, endings explained, watch parties, a first opera and a half-remembered title. Crafts: quilt layouts, knitting fixes, pottery, 3D printing, soap, jewellery, leather, furniture restoration and a cosplay build. Hobbies: stargazing and a first telescope, birdwatching, fishing, collecting, amateur radio, beekeeping, close-up magic and home brewing. Amateur sport: lineups, refereeing, scouting, tournaments, match reports, fantasy drafts and a league season.
  • Productivity (50). Personal style: a wardrobe reset, dress codes, colours, haircuts, skincare, shaving, everyday makeup, glasses and adaptive clothing. Shopping: whether to buy at all, appliances, mattresses, baby and outdoor gear, buying secondhand safely, timing a purchase, product claims and extended warranties. Religion and spirituality across traditions: explaining a tradition, scripture study, sermons, prayer and meditation practice, attending a ceremony, interfaith events, children's questions, pastoral visits, religious accommodation at work, and reflective tarot, dream journals and birth charts that never predict.
  • Software engineering (25). Security operations, defensive only: Sigma, YARA and Semgrep rules, SIEM queries, threat hunts, SOC alert triage, phishing and email header investigations, forensic timelines, suspicious scripts, packet captures and cloud audit logs, incident playbooks, tabletop exercises, vulnerability backlogs, firewall reviews, Windows domain hardening, bug bounty reports and CTF coaching.
  • Creative arts (18). Video generation: storyboard shots, image-to-video motion, product, explainer, music video, b-roll, loops and logo stings, fixing drift between shots, AI presenters and turning an article into scenes. Nonfiction books: drafting chapters, narrative scenes, a book index and a launch plan.
  • New personas: a film and book critic, a youth sports coach, a personal stylist, an interfaith chaplain, a SOC analyst, a detection engineer and a nonfiction book coach. New workflows: a cosplay build, an amateur league season, an AI short film, a nonfiction book, a wardrobe reset and a ransomware response.

The curated tier is full

The curated tier, which the Claude Code marketplace, npx skills and Gemini CLI install, holds 1,996 entries and is past the point where new entries join it automatically. From this release, an entry joins it only when there is room, with new personas, workflows, rules and styles first. So the 174 new entries are all verified: you install them through the CLI (npx @hermes-hq/hodios install <id>). Nothing left the curated tier, so nothing you installed earlier goes away.

Not in this release

  • No entries were merged or renamed, and every id from earlier releases still resolves.
  • A fix for project-aware search is ready but not yet on npm: in a project folder, hodios search with no query will list entries for your project's stack first (for example Next.js and React rules in a Next.js app). Until the next CLI version is published, add a word or a filter such as --stack nextjs.
  • 139 entries are marked experimental and 3,462 incubating. None is stable yet, because their evaluations have not been run.

@gabrielanhaia gabrielanhaia released this 03 Oct 20:36

The first signed catalog. The content is the same as 2026.1003.1: 2,570 entries, 1,900 of them in the curated set.

What's new:

  • The catalog manifest now comes with a signature (manifest.json.minisig, minisign / Ed25519). Hermes IDE checks it before it applies a library update, and refuses an update that is unsigned or has been altered.
  • The public key is in keys/manifest-signing.pub. You can check a download by hand: minisign -Vm manifest.json -p keys/manifest-signing.pub.

Catalog 2026.1003.1

Choose a tag to compare

@gabrielanhaia gabrielanhaia released this 03 Oct 17:51

Hodios grows to 2,570 open prompts, personas, workflows, rules and styles. 1,000 entries are new since 2026.1003.0, and the catalog now comes in two tiers so it can keep growing. All content is CC0-1.0.

Two tiers

  • Curated (1,900 entries) ship through the Claude Code marketplace, the Agent Skills installers and Gemini CLI, as before. These installers download the whole install tree, so it stays at 2,000 entries or fewer.
  • Verified (670 entries) are in the searchable catalog with everything else. npx @hermes-hq/hodios search finds them and npx @hermes-hq/hodios install <id> installs them into any supported tool.

Every entry from earlier releases is still curated, so nothing you installed from the marketplace or with npx skills goes away. 330 of the new entries joined the curated tier: the new personas, workflows, rules and styles, plus prompts picked so each domain keeps its share. New entries that give medical, mental-health, legal or financial guidance stay verified until a reviewer for that field promotes them, so a few of the entries below install through the CLI only. The rule is written down in TAXONOMY.md, and the list itself is curated.txt.

What's new

  • Home, pets and garden. Pet food comparisons, a first aquarium, puppy socialisation, paint colours, a rental move-in record, seed starting, a pollinator garden, and cheaper car running and insurance.
  • Health. Talking to a doctor about mental health, cutting down on gambling, sustainable weight loss, health anxiety, medical records requests, pharmacist questions and clinical trial options.
  • Teaching and learning. Flipped lessons, supports for multilingual learners, phonics lessons, spelling lists, a classroom AI policy, after-school clubs, exam-day strategy and argument mapping.
  • Everyday admin and tech at home. Monthly reviews, calibrated forecasts, working back from a deadline, group chat summaries, social media privacy, identity theft, backups and home Wi-Fi.
  • Money and small business. Small business budgets, leasing or buying equipment, cost of goods sold, rental property analysis, retirement drawdown, home buying costs, tax withholding and estimated tax payments.
  • Work and careers. LinkedIn recommendations, explaining a layoff in an interview, freelance proposals, workplace investigations, team restructures, interviewer training and merit increases.
  • Data, legal and software. Statistical analysis plans, Monte Carlo simulations, spreadsheet LAMBDA functions; cookie notices, takedown replies, security questionnaires and software licence reviews; React re-render fixes, shared git hooks, test data factories, LLM guardrails and GitLab pipelines.
  • 30 new personas (154 in all), including an engineering manager, venture capitalist, game developer, memoir coach, photography mentor and family tech helper.
  • 20 new multi-step workflows that pause for you between steps: a thesis, an ad campaign launch, a pricing change, interview preparation, a new manager's first months, a newsletter launch, weekly meal planning and more. Buying a home, an international move, an insurance claim and a fundraising round install through the CLI.
  • 5 new response styles (annotated, bottom line first, calibrated, kid-friendly and neutral) and 5 new always-on rules: database migrations, dependency hygiene, frontend accessibility, logging and a privacy-first assistant.

CLI

The hodios CLI on npm (@hermes-hq/hodios) reads both tiers from hodios-dist: npx @hermes-hq/hodios search budget lists curated and verified entries together, curated first when they match equally well.

Not in this release

  • No entries were merged or renamed, and every id from earlier releases still resolves.
  • 139 entries are marked experimental and 2,431 incubating. None is stable yet, because their evaluations have not been run.

Files

  • hodios-catalog-v1-2026.1003.1.tar.gz: the searchable catalog index with every entry in both tiers, the format the CLI reads. It is also published in hodios-dist under catalog/v1/.
  • all-2026.1003.1.hermes-prompts: the curated tier as one Hermes IDE bundle.
  • manifest.json and SHA256SUMS.
