Brixel 0.1.0 — first macOS build (Apple Silicon).

Requirements

Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later). There is no Intel-Mac or Windows build yet.

Install

  1. Download Brixel_0.1.0_aarch64.dmg, open it, drag Brixel to Applications.
  2. On first launch macOS will block the app with "Brixel cannot be opened because Apple
    cannot check it for malicious software." This is expected for this build — see below.
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Brixel, and
    click Open Anyway. Confirm once. Brixel opens normally from then on.

Why the warning

This build is signed with a Developer ID certificate — you can verify the developer is
Developer ID Application: Sunho Hwang (2WCD72DZMN) — but Apple's notarization of it is
still in progress at the time of publishing. Notarization is Apple's automated malware scan;
until it completes, Gatekeeper shows the message above even for correctly signed software.

This release will be replaced with a notarized build at the same download URL once Apple
finishes. The notarized build opens with no warning at all. If you would rather wait, check
back rather than working around the prompt.

Third-party software

This application bundles FFmpeg 8.1 as a separate executable, used for video and image
encoding. FFmpeg is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later —
this build includes libx264, which requires --enable-gpl.

FFmpeg runs as a separate process and is not linked into Brixel, so Brixel's own source is not
covered by the GPL. You may extract, replace or redistribute the bundled FFmpeg binary under

publisher; this offer is valid for three years from the date of this release.
