Highlights
- Telemetry reports usage and who started the gateway. The anonymous
gateway_heartbeatnow carries ausageblock: successful queries, writes, and rows upserted, patched and deleted since the previous heartbeat. The gateway checks hourly and sends a heartbeat only when there is usage to report, or once a day when idle. A tool that starts the gateway can name itself withLAYER_TELEMETRY_SOURCEandLAYER_TELEMETRY_SOURCE_VERSION. Telemetry still never includes query text, vectors, namespace names, document IDs, keys or contents, andLAYER_TELEMETRY=offorDO_NOT_TRACK=1turns it off. (layer-pro#688)
Docs
- The observability page describes what telemetry sends, how often, the source variables, and how to opt out, including the Helm chart's
gateway.telemetry.enabledvalue.
Clients
