v2026.9.1
What's Changed
Fixes
- Editing a snippet after switching from another one wrote the text into the previous snippet and destroyed its content. If 2026.9.0 replaced a snippet's text with something you typed elsewhere, that was this. Update now.

v2026.9.0
What's Changed
Features
- Four-finger double tap on the trackpad opens the ring. It works alongside the mouse or keyboard trigger, switch it on under Trigger. The ring stays open: move to a wedge and click to insert, Escape cancels.
- Long snippet names wrap to two lines in their wedge, and the hub shows the full name of the lit wedge.
- The editor highlights
{date},{enter},$|and the other tokens as you type. - Launching Snip again brings Settings forward. A Dock icon shows while the window is open.
Fixes
- Deleting the selected snippet no longer crashes the app.

v2026.7.3
What's Changed
Fixes
- Loupe lens is optically correct — the magnified content no longer squeezes horizontally; the lens is radially symmetric and bulges like a convex glass, with magnification growing toward the rim.
- Text fields accept paste and the emoji palette — Cmd+V/C/X/A and Emoji & Symbols now work in the label and snippet editors, so emoji can be used in labels and snippet text.

v2026.7.2
What's Changed
Features
- Inline key-send tokens — snippet text can embed
{enter}/{return}and{tab}to fire real keystrokes, so a snippet can submit in chat apps (Slack, iTerm) where a pasted newline wouldn't. - Per-app hold or double-click — each app's custom trigger can be a hold or a double-click gesture.
Fixes
- Per-app triggers arm reliably — a custom per-app trigger (e.g. middle mouse in iTerm) now arms immediately, without switching away to another app and back — including right after editing a rule.
- Empty wedge opens its editor — firing an empty ring slot jumps straight to a new editable snippet for that slot instead of landing on the empty panel.

v2026.7.1
What's Changed
Features
- Per-app trigger rules — the Exceptions pane is now Apps: for each app, either suppress the trigger (as before) or open the ring with a different trigger just in that app — keep ⌥Space everywhere but hold the middle button in your terminal. Existing exception lists carry over unchanged.
- Start at login — new toggle in Settings, backed by macOS login items and always in sync with System Settings.
- Version & website at a glance — the sidebar footer shows the app version (build number in the tooltip) and links to snip.hexul.com.
- App icon on the onboarding screen — the welcome screen now shows Snip's actual icon.
Fixes
- Recording a per-app trigger is safe against every way of backing out: canceling, switching behaviors mid-recording, or abandoning the recorder can no longer leave stray bindings or swallow keyboard input.
- Escape cancels trigger recording instead of being captured as the trigger.
- Disabled buttons now dim properly.
- Fixed a data race between the ring's stuck-session watchdog and the event tap.
