mirrorball wraps the system ssh rather than reimplementing it, so ~/.ssh/config aliases, ProxyJump, agent forwarding and hardware keys all apply untouched. What it adds is honesty about state: a forward is bound when the local socket accepts, ready when a probe reached the remote service, and refused when the tunnel is healthy and the service is not. ssh -L cannot tell those apart.

Install

The installer verifies the SHA-256 against checksums.txt before installing, and puts both mirb and a mirrorball alias on your PATH.
