Minuta 1.0

Minuta is a small, personal XTEINK X4 firmware fork made for a soft, simple, and pretty reading experience. Minuta keeps CrossPoint’s excellent reading foundation, while leaning further into a more focused visual direction.

What is included

• Solum and Quartum home-screen themes
• EPUB, TXT, and XTC reading
• Dictionary support
• Young Serif and DM Sans reading fonts
• More fonts through Manage Fonts or the SD card
• SD-card firmware updating, including for USB-locked X4 devices
• A small X4-only firmware build, with unnecessary hardware and interface paths removed

Scope

Minuta is English-only and made for the ordinary XTEINK X4 only.

It does not support the X3, X4 Pro, Paper Mono, Sticky, or other devices.

Night Mode has been removed, finished books stay in their original folders, and the reader wakes to the home screen after sleep. The interface is deliberately kept focused on the reading experience rather than endless customisation.

Installation

Download minuta-1.0.bin below and use the update method available on your X4.

Please back up anything important on your SD card before updating firmware.

I have tested this release on my own USB-locked XTEINK X4.

Credits

Minuta is built on CrossPoint Reader. Casper was also a big inspiration for Minuta’s minimal home-screen direction.
