Hall Monitor 0.3.0: The Mac App
Hall Monitor is now a full Mac app. Open it from the menu bar (⌘O) or the Dock:
- Agents: every Claude Code and Codex session as a live card: what it's doing, its last prompt, subagents, and a five-minute timeline. Filter by provider, search (⌘F), and see everything about one in the side panel. Double-click or Return jumps to it.
- Usage: agent time per day, plan limits, when your agents work, and your top projects, models and tools. Today, 7 or 30 days.
- Machines: this Mac and every SSH host, live; add or remove hosts right there.
Dark, native, with IBM Plex and the standard Mac menus; it gets a Dock icon only while the window is open.
Lighter everywhere: animations now run on Core Animation. The menu bar + notch use ~1% CPU (down from ~6%), the window a few percent.
Also: a proper app icon.
hallmonitor 0.2.0 (formerly agentboard)
agentboard is now hallmonitor. Same tool, new name: a hall monitor for your coding agents.
brew upgrademoves you over (the formula and cask were renamed in the tap).agentboardkeeps working as a command.- On first run your usage history, hosts file and Claude status line carry over; the status line is pointed at hallmonitor, with a backup of settings.json.
- The app is now Hall Monitor (
dev.hallmonitor.app) and copies your settings from AgentBoard. If you had Launch at login on, switch it on again in Settings. - Remote hosts still running agentboard keep working.
Also in this release: demo sessions show subagents.
v0.1.6
- Security fix: a session reported by a remote machine could inject a shell command when you clicked it in the menu bar app. Every field passed to the open command is now quoted. Update if you watch other machines over SSH.
v0.1.5
- Subagent counts. See how many subagents each Claude Code session has running and what they're doing: on the board's cards and detail panel, a new SUBAGENTS tile, the notch rows, and the menu.
- Click an agent to open it. Click a row in the notch, choose Open in the menu, or press Enter on the board: Claude app sessions open on that session, and terminal agents bring their terminal or editor to the front (Terminal, iTerm, Ghostty, cmux, VS Code, Cursor, through tmux too). No permission prompts.
- The board shows your Mac's name instead of a network-assigned hostname.
v0.1.4
- Live Claude plan limits, even for Claude desktop app sessions. Every 15 minutes agentboard opens Claude Code's own
/usagescreen in the background (safe mode, no tools) and reads the 5-hour and weekly limits. Claude Code uses its own login, agentboard never sees a token, and nothing is sent to the model. Toggle in Settings, orAGENTBOARD_NO_PROBE=1.agentboard usage --probereads them now.
v0.1.3
- macOS app no longer asks for folder access. A session started in your home folder sent the project-icon search through all of
~, which made macOS ask to access other apps' data at every login. Icons are now only looked up inside project folders, never in Desktop, Documents, Downloads or Library. - Plan limits show up within seconds of Claude Code reporting them, and a reading older than 15 minutes is marked with
~instead of looking live.
agentboard 0.1.2
- Linux: no error when Claude Code isn't installed.
- Release tarballs extract cleanly with GNU tar (no macOS metadata warnings).
agentboard 0.1.1
- Plan limits at a glance: the board's top bar and the menu bar icon.
- Real Claude / ChatGPT icons next to limits (terminal and menu).
- When Claude waits on you, agentboard says why (permission, input, …).
- The menu bar menu stays open while agents update.
- New README.
