If you get errors like Timed out waiting for FSM NP transfer to complete on 3 (different numbers) in the system log and QDMR fails to read form the device when running on a Raspberry Pi 3: see raspberrypi/firmware#1804 (comment): add dtoverlay=dwc2 to the end of /boot/firmware/config.txt
