Release list
Pixel Faceplate 0.2.1
- If GabeCubeAura drives the faceplate itself, this plugin now gets out of the way: it lets go of the panel, stops handling sleep, and its panel tells you to set things up in GabeCubeAura and uninstall Pixel Faceplate. Switch GabeCubeAura off in Decky and this plugin takes over again.
- Nothing is sent to a CH340 serial port until it answers like the faceplate, so other gadgets that use the same chip are left alone.
- After a reconnect, brightness is capped as if a bright picture is showing, until the plugin sends its own.
- Sleep and shutdown no longer wait behind an upload in progress.
- The brightness slider applies once you stop sliding, and error messages stay on screen.
New since 0.1.9, in case you skipped 0.2.0:
- Artwork style: art + logo with the dark band behind the logo, art + logo without it, art only, or logo only on black.
- Logo position: top, center or bottom, in any style that shows the logo.
- Style and logo position can be set for one game. While a game is running, turn on "Just for" that game.
- Upside down: flips the picture if you mount the faceplate with the cable coming out the right side. The included cable won't reach, so you'll need a longer one.
- The plugin locks the serial port while it uses it, so two programs can't send to the panel at once.
To update, install the new ZIP the same way as before (Decky > Settings > Developer > Install Plugin from ZIP File). Your settings carry over.

Pixel Faceplate 0.2.0
- Artwork style: art + logo with the dark band behind the logo (same as before), art + logo without it, art only, or logo only. A few people found the band darkened too much of the picture, so it's now up to you.
- Logo position: top, center or bottom.
- Style and logo position can be set for one game. While a game is running, turn on "Just for" that game.
- Upside down: flips the picture if you mount the faceplate with the cable coming out the right side. The included cable won't reach, so you'll need a longer one.
- The plugin now locks the serial port while it's using it, so two programs can't send to the panel at once. If something else has it, the status tells you and the plugin waits.
To update, install the new ZIP the same way as before (Decky > Settings > Developer > Install Plugin from ZIP File). Your settings carry over. Decky doesn't update plugins installed from a ZIP on its own.

Pixel Faceplate 0.1.9
First release. Please read the README before installing: this is a hobby project, tested only on my own Steam Machine (SteamOS 3.8.28, Decky 3.2.10), and not production-quality software. Use at your own risk.
Install the ZIP through Decky: Settings > Developer > Install Plugin from ZIP File (turn on Developer mode first). The README has a step-by-step guide and the warnings about flash writes and USB-A power.
