1.12.0 Holographics is open-source! (2026-08-21)

After 6 years, Holographics has become open-source. You can read more about what this means on our website: https://hologfx.io/open-source

Besides that this version has received a number of stability and dependency improvements. The foundation has been renovated so Holographics can continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.

⚠️ If you are on a version prior to v1.12, you will have to update by reinstalling the new version. The entity on the certifications has changed and this breaks the update mechanism. This is a one-off action and future updates should work fine!

Features

• free and open source: this version removes all code related to licensing, all build steps related to code protection and all dependencies on external services for licensing and analytics.
• updated dependencies: the previous build was getting rather stale, this version has updated dependencies so Holographics can continue running on modern hardware and OS-es.
• updates: from now on publish only to GitHub Releases, with stable and beta channels (a80cfda)
• outputs: stability vastly improved so the feature has moved out of beta.
