TSU 1.0.10 — Memory card holds the settings
The memory card now holds the management computer's settings
Breaking a management computer used to destroy everything it held — the line symbols, the station assignments, the monitor layout and colours. Worse, the station monitors kept trying to show a symbol the computer no longer knew about, and a freshly placed computer fought the world data over it once a second, so the symbol blinked on and off at 1 Hz.
The memory card is now where those settings live.
- Insert a card that already holds settings → the computer is restored from it. The card wins.
- Insert a blank card → the computer's current settings are saved onto it. A computer with nothing configured will not write an empty save.
- While a card is inserted → later edits are written back to it automatically.
So breaking the block no longer loses anything. Place another one anywhere, insert the same card, and the setup comes back.
The card carries everything the computer can be configured with: line symbols, station assignments, the monitor layout and its colours, timetable sharing, and the linked track network.
⚠️ Existing worlds
With no card inserted, stations no longer show a line symbol. The card is the authority now, so pulling it out — or breaking the computer — takes the symbol off the station monitors until a card is inserted again. The assignment itself is not deleted; it comes back with the card. If your management computer has no card in it, insert one and the symbols return.
Resetting a card
Shift + right-click now asks for confirmation and shows what is about to be lost (how many line symbols, how many station assignments, which link is registered), because a card can be the only copy.
Fixed
- Line symbols blinking on station monitors after a management computer was broken and replaced. There were two writers for a station's symbol; there is now one.
- Shift-clicking put the wrong item in the wrong slot. The memory card slot had no filter, so it swallowed monitor link cards and blank schedules too. Items now go to the slot that matches their type, and hoppers can no longer push arbitrary items into the card slots.
- A written schedule could enter the export input slot and be consumed there, losing its contents. Only blank schedules are accepted now.
- Control glyphs drawn as text characters are now registry icons.
- A dynamic number with no value returned the default instead of nothing.
