Tapo P110 not supported after TPAP encryption update (Firmware 1.4.0) #157193

The problem

Issue

The Tapo P110 smart plug cannot be added to Home Assistant after updating to firmware 1.4.0.
The device now uses TPAP/KLAP encryption and is no longer recognized by the official TP-Link Tapo integration.

Error message

Connection error: Unsupported device 192.168.100.110 of type SMART.TAPOPLUG with encrypt_scheme EncryptionScheme(is_support_https=False, encrypt_type='TPAP', http_port=80, lv=2)

Details

  • Model: Tapo P110
  • Firmware: 1.4.0 (Build 251020 Rel.161559)
  • Hardware: 1.0
  • Device responds with HTTP 200 OK locally
  • Works normally in the Tapo app
  • Another device (Tapo P100) integrates correctly
  • Same network, same router
  • IP: 192.168.100.110
  • Tapo Controller (HACS) is no longer available (repository removed)

Expected

Support for the updated Tapo P110 using the new TPAP encryption scheme.

Notes

This issue started only after the firmware update. The device was working previously.
