2026.4.0 Issue with older ios 12.5.8

The problem

after updating my homeassistant from 2026.3.4 to 2026.4.0 i cant open the homeassistant dashboard even on the old ios app or in safari. i see the logo before "loading data" and not more happens. i never see a login mask or dashboard. in 2026.3.4 everything is working fine and fast.

What version of iOS do you run? And what device specifically?

Older versions of safari may no longer work (<16.5 IIRC is what we have found from testing so far)

• Homeassistant App for iOS (Homeassistan Companion 2023.12.1 (2023.508))

is there a workaround for safari or the homeassistant app? i want to use this offline device without internet for homeassistant

looks like i reported same in wrong repo - home-assistant/core#167213

Device - iPad mini 2, ios 12.5.8

• neither in app

• neither in chrome (last version , which can be installed - 92.0.4515.90)

• neither in safari (last version , which can be installed - 12.1.2 15E148 )

Home Assistant is not opening - only a white screen with the logo.

This hints to BigInt backward incompatibility

Seeing the same here

Model Name: iPad MD785J/B
Software Version: iOS 12.5.8
App version: 2023.12.1 (2023.508) - The latest that will install on the old iPad

The Home Assistant companion app 2023.12.1 needed for older iPads is not able to load the new 2026.4 interface. It just remains as a white screen with the orange settings icon in the bottom right. Loading in Safari has the same issue.

No changes made except upgrading HA from 2026.3.4 to 2026.4

Seeing the same issue on an iPad mini 2 running iOS 12.5.8. I was able to narrow this down to the @formatjs/intl-locale 5.3.1 upgrade - looks like they dropped support for Safari versions < 14. Downgrading this package to 5.2.2 fixes the frontend for me.

I have the same issue on an old ipad.

downgrade and. works fine now

I did a downgrade to 2026.2.3 which fixed it for the moment.
