Now based on Nuvio 1.1.0-beta.4, which brings Nuvio's latest improvements, including background trailers on details pages, next-episode source preloading, MDBList library list selection, poster and RTL fixes, and new and updated translations.

New

• Live TV row on the home screen: your favorite channels with what's on now, in a slim row next to Continue watching. Press OK to play full screen. Choose whether it sits above or below Continue watching, what it shows (Favorites, Recently watched or one of your own groups), its title, order and number of channels, or hide it completely. Settings > Live TV > In the rest of Nuvio.
• Watch from the beginning in the guide: on catch-up channels, restart the show that's on now from the long-press menu or the show's info, not just from full screen.

• Live TV opens instantly: your channel list, Favorites included, now loads straight away when you come back to the app, instead of re-reading every playlist.
• TV guide loads instantly, however large: the guide is now stored on the device like TiviMate does, and only the hours you're looking at are loaded. Scrolling ahead, going back for catch-up and overlay mode's schedule load more as needed. It also uses much less memory.
• Easier Assign EPG: press Left in the list to jump straight to Search, and pick which TV guide to choose from with one press.

Fixed

• Frozen picture when going full screen: fixed the picture freezing while sound keeps playing, or getting stuck on Loading, when switching between the guide preview and full screen. The preview window may now have square corners.
• "Playback unavailable" on titles your provider has: movies and shows that none of your addons support (for example ones without an IMDb ID, like Big Brother UK 2023) can now be played from your provider's On Demand, without extra addons.

New

• Browse On Demand by genre: switch the list on the left between By category and By genre. Genres come from your provider, your addons, and TMDB, which fills them in automatically in the background after each import (newest titles first). Progress shows in Settings > Live TV > On Demand.
• Catch-up keeps playing: when a show ends, catch-up carries straight on into the next one with no freeze or reload, so shows that run over are no longer cut off. The title, info bar and seek bar follow along.
• Sort by menu in On Demand: a single Sort by control in the header opens a drop-down with Default, A–Z, Z–A, Newest, Oldest and Recently added.
• Play/Pause shortcut: press Play/Pause while browsing the guide to jump straight back to full screen on what's playing.

Improved

• On Demand finds more titles: shows and movies without an IMDb ID (for example Big Brother UK 2023) are now found in your provider's catalog by title and year, so they play from On Demand in Nuvio's stream list without needing extra addons.
• Daily shows: episodes are matched even when your provider lists the whole show as a single season.
• Hold Back works on all remotes: holding Back in the guide now returns to full screen on what's playing, including on Fire TV and Google TV remotes that only send the Back button once.
• Easier catch-up browsing: holding Left in the guide now steps back through earlier shows at a steady, readable pace instead of racing through hours of listings. Tapping Left still steps back one show at a time.

Fixed

• Catch-up an hour off: fixed catch-up playing the wrong show (for example picking 8pm and getting 9pm) on some Xtream providers. Catch-up now uses the provider's server time zone. If you were affected, run Update now on that playlist once.
• Up/Down after holding Back: after browsing other groups and holding Back to return to full screen, Up/Down now changes channels from the channel you're watching, not the one you were browsing.
• Removed "Top rated" sorting, which relied on provider scores that weren't reliable.

• Sort On Demand: a sort bar above the posters with Default, A–Z, Z–A, Newest, Oldest, Recently added and Top rated. Press Up from the posters to reach it.
• Play from On Demand plays right away: on a movie or show opened from On Demand, Play starts your provider's copy straight away. Long-press Play still shows every stream so you can pick a service.
• On Demand categories open as you scroll: highlight a category and its titles appear, just like Live TV groups.
• Closed captions in Live TV: channels with built-in captions now show Closed captions under Subtitles.
• Show posters setting: turn off Live TV posters to just show the channel logo, under Settings → Live TV → Guide layout.
• Live TV search: search opened from Live TV (the Search button or the remote's Search key) now shows Live TV results only. Search from Nuvio's menu still shows everything.

Improved

• Smoother overlay mode: scrolling through channels is much lighter, especially on Fire TV Sticks.
• On Demand titles open faster: an "Opening…" message shows while a movie loads, and Back cancels it.
• Better On Demand posters: provider tags like "4K-D+ - " or "EN - " are recognized and removed, so titles match your addons' posters and show clean names.

Fixed

• Stuck "Loading…": channels that stall and stay on Loading now reload by themselves after 15 seconds.
• Large M3U playlists: Live TV no longer crashes after adding an M3U that also lists movies and episodes; those are skipped, and only channels are loaded.
• Duplicate entries: playlists and guides that list the same entry twice no longer cause crashes.
• Search with Live TV turned off: Nuvio's search now returns only movies and TV series, and Live TV doesn't load in the background.

• Browse by channel name (optional): picking a group lands on the channel names, satellite-box style. OK plays, Right opens the schedule, Left goes back to the groups.
• Channel name editor: strip prefixes and suffixes like "USA:", "HD", "FHD" or "24/7" from channel names. There's a one-tap list of common ones, and real names like "USA Network" are left alone.
• Playlist name in the info panel, so you can see where each channel comes from. On by default.
• Hide the "now" line: an option to remove the vertical line that marks the current time.
• Xtream stream format: Auto, TS or HLS (m3u8) for each login. Auto follows what your account allows.

• "Bad http status" on every channel: Xtream logins now use the stream format your account allows, and errors say what the provider answered (like "too many connections" or "account expired").
• On Demand on large catalogs:
  • Imports no longer stop and lose everything.
  • What arrives is kept, and a cut-off list is retried category by category.
  • Any problem is shown in settings.
• On Demand posters and details: your addons' posters now work even when the provider adds tags like "EN - " to titles, and titles open on Nuvio's details page using their ID.

Fixes in this update:

Now on Nuvio 1.1.0-beta.3. New: On Demand (your provider's movies and series, plus "Watch On Demand" with quality badges inside Nuvio), a choice of TV channels and/or VOD per login, parental controls, reminders, stream info and quality badges, match frame rate, a sleep timer, loading progress, and a start page setting. Plus sorting now works in Favorites. Sorry for the frequent Updates. I keep noticing small bugs after the fact.
