BasaltOS v0.0.8 (February 9, 2026)

This release packages the new Jira operating workflow and core configurator hardening completed during Sprint 1 closeout.

Highlights

• Added a repo-local Jira workspace under jira/ with:
  • daily export automation (jira/scripts/export_daily.sh)
  • bulk update sync tooling (jira/scripts/sync_updates.sh)
  • sprint/blocker report generators (jira/scripts/report_*.sh)
  • update payload templates + applied history for repeatable execution
• Added Jira config scaffolding and templates:
  • jira/config/jira.env.example
  • jira/config/issue_templates/s1_bug_template.json
  • clear local-only secret handling via jira/.gitignore

Configurator hardening

• Improved tools/configure.py behavior:
  • invalid --board now fails correctly in platform-scoped mode
  • platform-aware next-step guidance for ESP32/AVR/PIC and generic targets
• Restricted local configurator scope by default:
  • market endpoints disabled unless explicitly enabled with
    BASALTOS_LOCAL_MARKET_ENABLED=1
  • local UI now hides/disables market/profile workflow by default
  • docs updated in tools/CONFIGURATOR_README.md

Validation and CI

• Added regression and smoke test scripts under tools/tests/:
  • invalid board regression
  • multi-board smoke coverage
  • deterministic output checks
  • configurator API smoke test
• Updated GitHub Actions workflow to run configurator CI checks.

Cleanup

• Removed legacy spiffs/apps/flappy_bird app artifacts.
