Luma v0.3.39-beta.4
Beta build with one fix on top of beta.3: reminders aimed at a single satellite or room now stay lit.
- Satellite-only reminders no longer light and then go dark. The Main decides twice whether a satellite shows a reminder: once for the instant push, and again for the poll the satellite reconciles against every 5 seconds. The push matched on the room the Main had on record, the poll on the room the satellite reported about itself. When those disagreed (a room assignment the satellite never received, a re-flashed satellite, a stale saved value) the push lit the satellite and the next poll cleared it. Both paths now share one rule (
include/device_target.h), evaluated against the Main's own record. Host-tested. - The Main's room assignment is authoritative. When a satellite reports a different room than the one assigned, the Main hands back the correct value on the poll and the satellite saves it. A Main with no assignment still defers to the satellite, so rooms survive the Main losing its satellite list.
- Custom device targets match the display name too. A reminder targeted at a named device now matches the satellite's hostname or its display name, case-insensitively. Previously only an exact hostname matched, so typing the name shown in the app never lit anything.
This fix runs on the Main, so the Main is the device that needs this build. Not yet verified on hardware: target a reminder at one satellite only and confirm it stays lit past the first 5 seconds.

Luma v0.3.39-beta.3
Reminder dismissals now stick: dismissing from a satellite tap or the app no longer comes back a few seconds later. Manually turning a satellite's light on is no longer switched off by the next sync.

Luma v0.3.39-beta.2
Beta build carrying the audit fixes, plus two new recovery paths.
-
Wi-Fi recovery without unplugging. If the Luma loses its network for
10 minutes it now raises its own "Luma Setup XXXX" access point and serves
a recovery page at/recover. Join it, enter the new network, done. It
rejoins without rebooting, so the clock survives and schedules keep firing.
Asks for the device PIN when one is set, and shares the login lockout —
the AP is open, so it must not be a free PIN oracle.
This path has never run on real hardware. It is the main thing to test:
change your router password, wait ten minutes, and see if the AP appears. -
Forgot PIN / in-app erase. Recovery from a lost PIN without a USB cable.
-
Satellites no longer extinguish the reminder they just lit. Caught in
pre-release review: room-targeted reminders (kitchen, office, bedroom,
custom) and every one-shot lit correctly and then went dark about five
seconds later, on every occurrence, with nothing in the logs. It looked
like flaky hardware. The Main was reporting "am I glowing" where the
satellite was asking "should I be glowing". Now host-tested. -
One-shot and monthly reminders no longer disappear on reboot.
-
Timezone auto-detect corrected; the device no longer broadcasts a stale
numeric offset to satellites. -
Satellites now fully reconcile against the Main instead of drifting:
room assignment, hydration and per-device targeting all sync. -
Vacation mode drains reminders that were already queued.
-
NTP retries are spaced instead of hammering on failure.
-
Input validation on schedule and setup endpoints (SSID/password lengths,
control characters in JSON, malformed schedule payloads). -
X-Luma-Keyis now derived — SHA-256(devSecret) — instead of putting the
raw device secret on the wire. -
Destructive endpoints are gated, so a harvested shared key can no longer
wipe a PIN-protected Main. -
Removed the WebSocket feed on port 81. It had no clients and no
authentication: anyone on the LAN could watch every reminder fire.
Removing it also freed 13.6 KB of the app partition, taking OTA headroom
from 66.6 KB to 80.2 KB.
Onboarding and device-list fixes, OTA progress polling, resilient refresh,
Bonjour retry after a failed validation, and correct firmware-version
comparison so betas are offered properly.
