Sorry, I probably didn't explain that MADR have a specific purpose and format!

This page is to explain why we use slack specifically, instead of other open source community tools 😄

So it would be something like:

# Use Slack to engage with our community members

## Context and Problem Statement

We have a community at HOT that...

We need to ....

## Considered Options

- Slack
- Mastodon
- Discouse
- etc

## Decision Outcome

We are using Slack because...

### Consequences

- Good, because...
- Bad, because...

ah makes sense! I understand now and good to have a clear structure! The only thing I can add is that we have been using Slack for a while, our community is already there and have enabled Matrix for people to join from other platforms.

In 2025, we will be revisiting the use of Slack and possible open source alternatives (as Slack changed their subscription model and will be costly to maintain with many users). Thank you!
