CanvasTTY 1.8.1 adds file and material workflows, usage history, and interactive mascots, with the maintainer's reviewed UI and minimap fixes. The 1.8.0 build was not published; this release includes its fixes and the macOS Files reader correction.

New features

  • Files on the canvas: a read-only folder tree and rich Markdown, code, text, and image previews (#125, @tab11pm).
  • Materials and agent handoff: image cards, pinned versions, remarks, and sending selected remarks to an existing agent session (#123, #128, #130, @SaneSanders). The handoff icon remains fixed in the header, and Cancel/Send actions sit together at the bottom right.
  • Usage history: measured quota changes, conditional session estimates, local-log tokens, and explicit source health (#138, @pepechka-kun). The report uses five left-side sections with pages. Estimates are labeled as estimates; logs do not prove billing attribution.
  • Interactive mascots: canvas integration and a Codex mascot creation workflow (#139, @CLOSETTTY).
  • Launch defaults: save default launch profiles per agent (#127, @Yt4aZaveta).
  • Terminal file links: open files in VS Code (#129, @theorangecolorv2).

Fixes

  • File previews work on macOS: descriptor device paths are no longer mistaken for file locations, while root containment and file identity checks remain enforced.
  • The minimap fits the camera viewport and all canvas objects together, keeping the white camera outline within the overview.
  • macOS text-field clipboard and edit menus work consistently (#131, @BIackFIame).
  • OpenCode exports only its plugin entry (#126, @BIackFIame).
  • The macOS native PTY fix prevents file-descriptor leaks (#140, @teo-nex).
  • Usage collection does not create WAL side files beside stopped Hermes databases. Symlinked history files are refused on Windows as well as Unix.
  • The npm lockfile supports clean installs with the Node 22/npm 10 toolchain used by release builds.

The orchestration additions in #132–137 are not included. Material handoff does not automatically apply a saved JSON agent report to material state.
