v1.5.0 — Navigation Pane Enhancements
What's New
The sidebar navigation pane has been restructured for clarity and extensibility:
- Header renamed — The sidebar header now reads "Views" instead of repeating the "MCP Manager" branding already present in the title bar and app header. This follows the Rule of Least Surprise: the header describes the pane's contents.
- New DIAGNOSTICS category — Netstat has been moved into its own "DIAGNOSTICS" grouping, reflecting its role as a read-only monitoring tool rather than a general utility.
- UTILITIES trimmed — The "UTILITIES" category now contains only Shell and Explorer — tools that facilitate active changes to the environment.
- Help separated — Help is no longer mixed in with functional tools. It now sits below a horizontal rule as a standalone meta-navigation item.
These changes follow the Rule of Extensibility, making it straightforward to add future views under the appropriate category.
Scope
All changes are confined to frontend/src/components/Sidebar.svelte. No backend, store, or event changes.
v1.4.0 — Native Menu Bar
What's New
Native OS menu bar providing keyboard-driven access to all major
application functions.
Menu Structure
- File — Discovery refresh (F5), application exit (Ctrl+Q)
- Edit — Standard clipboard operations via native OS handling
- View — View switching (Ctrl+1–5), toggle log panel (Ctrl+L)
- Server — Start/Stop/Restart selected server (Ctrl+Shift+S/X/R),
view configuration, open server directory - Window — Minimize, maximize/restore, full screen (F11)
- Help — MCP Documentation, GitHub repository, About dialog
Other Improvements
- Server table rows are now click-selectable, enabling Server menu
actions and providing clear visual feedback for the active server - Keyboard shortcuts consolidated under menu accelerators, removing
prior conflicts between server actions and standard clipboard keys - Help view shortcuts table updated to reflect all current bindings
v1.3.1 — Version Display Fix
Fix
Frontend version display (sidebar footer and Help > About) was hardcoded
to v0.1.0 from initial development. Both now read the version from the
backend at startup, which gets the correct value from the git tag via
ldflags at build time. Development builds show "dev" as expected.
Files Changed
app.go— NewGetVersion()method exposing build-time versionfrontend/src/components/Sidebar.svelte— Dynamic version in footerfrontend/src/components/HelpView.svelte— Dynamic version in About tab
v1.3.0 — Smart Netstat & Sidebar Polish
What's New
Transport-Aware Netstat View
The Netstat tab now automatically detects whether any discovered servers use HTTP/SSE transport. When all servers are stdio-only, the tab grays out with an explanatory message — no manual configuration needed. The app uses what it already knows about your server configuration to surface the right UI at the right time.
Services View Removed
The system services panel duplicated functionality already available in your OS. It's been removed to keep the interface focused on MCP-specific tooling. The sidebar slot is reserved for a future Dependencies/Environment view (#18) that will surface runtime prerequisite health across your MCP server ecosystem.
Sidebar Improvements
- Active view highlighting now works for all sidebar buttons (previously only the Servers tab highlighted)
- Hover tips cleaned up — removed internal feature-request prefixes
- Keyboard shortcuts renumbered: Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+5 map to the five remaining views
- Ctrl+2 (Netstat) is guarded against stdio-only configurations
Files Changed

v1.2.2 — Bug Fixes & Housekeeping
Bug Fixes (v1.2.1)
Restart button for stdio servers (#3) — The Restart button attempted a direct stop+start on stdio transport servers, which fails because stdio servers require an MCP client to manage their lifecycle. Restart is now disabled for stdio servers with a tooltip explaining the client requirement. Backend guards added at both the Wails binding and lifecycle service layers.
Contract test isolation (#4) — The contract lifecycle test suite had order-dependent failures caused by async lifecycle operations completing after subtests returned. Replaced all fixed-duration sleeps with proper state polling helpers and added cleanup handlers to every subtest that starts a server.
Uptime display (#5) — The Uptime column showed "-" for all servers because the frontend referenced a field the backend never sends. Uptime is now computed client-side from the server's last state change timestamp, with a 60-second refresh timer for live updates.
Housekeeping (v1.2.2)
- Removed vestigial
cmd/mcpmanager/directory (diverged, unused copy of root app entry point) - Removed dead
DiscoveryProcesssource constant - Reconciled all TypeScript interfaces with Go structs, eliminating phantom fields and type drift
- Fixed restart contract tests to start servers before restarting (tests were passing for the wrong reason)
- Updated all frontend test mocks to match corrected interfaces
- Full validation: Go build/vet/test, TypeScript check, 54/54 frontend tests, 3x contract stability — all clean
v1.2.0 - Explorer View Filter Redesign
What Changed
The Explorer view's "Running Processes" filter option was structurally
broken — it filtered for a discovery source value (process) that no
server in the system ever carried, silently returning zero results.
Fix
The single filter dropdown has been split into two independent controls:
- Source filter: Client Config Files, Claude Extensions, Filesystem Scan
- Status filter: Running, Stopped, Starting, Error
Both filters compose with each other and with the existing search field,
letting users find servers by how they were discovered, their current
runtime state, or both.
Details
- Issue: #2
- Scope: Frontend only (
ExplorerView.svelte) — no backend changes - Backend process matching: Confirmed working correctly; the bug was
purely in the UI filter logic

v1.1.1 - Explorer Directory Fix
Fixed
- Explorer "Open Directory" now correctly opens server installation directories for all server types (#1)
- Extension servers use
__EXTENSION_PATH__environment variable - Config/process servers extract directory from
--directoryflag - Intelligent fallback to parent directory of executable
- Extension servers use
Testing
- ✅ Figma (extension): Opens extension directory
- ✅ Filesystem (extension): Opens extension directory
- ✅ ProcExecMCP (config): Opens server directory via --directory flag

v1.1.0 - Local Verification & Code Quality Enhancement
MCP Manager v1.1.0
This release enhances the developer experience by replacing GitHub Actions CI with fast, local verification scripts, along with bug fixes and documentation improvements.
🎯 Highlights
No more waiting on CI! After 14+ GitHub Actions failures due to platform quirks, we've moved to local verification scripts that provide the same quality gates with immediate feedback in your actual development environment.
✨ What's New
Local Verification Infrastructure
IMPORTANT: Run comprehensive quality checks locally before committing:
-
Unix/macOS/Linux:

- Removed error string punctuation violations (ST1005)
- Removed unnecessary nil checks (S1009)
- Removed unused functions and variables (U1000)
- Formatted all Go files with go fmt

⚠️ Known Issues
Several non-critical issues were identified during v1.1.0 testing and will be tracked via GitHub Issues:
- Uptime field displays as "nil" for running servers
- Restart button fails for stdio transport servers
- Explorer "Open Directory" opens Documents folder instead of server installation path
- Running Processes dropdown fails to identify active MCP server processes
These issues don't affect core functionality but will be addressed in future releases. Workarounds are available - see individual GitHub Issues for details.
