v0.3.1 — points to ALGAL, readable CLI

@0thernet 0thernet released this 26 Sep 19:55
2d0cd75

Since v0.3.0:

  • Morphogen is the earlier prototype of ALGAL. The README and every help screen now say so and point to https://algal.computer; new work belongs there.
  • morphogen alone prints a short start screen, and morphogen --help is grouped and under 60 lines. Maintainer commands (foundry, bench, store, slots) move to morphogen help advanced.
  • Every command has its own help: morphogen <command> --help, -h and morphogen help <command> print the same text.
  • morphogen --version prints morphogen 0.3.1; --version --json keeps the JSON object.
  • Errors are one sentence and one next command, such as ✗ Unknown command "rnu". Did you mean "run"? then → morphogen --help. Usage errors exit 2. With --json or when a coding agent runs it, errors are one {"ok":false,"error":{...}} object on stdout.
  • Symbols fall back to ASCII for TERM=dumb, non-UTF-8 locales and HRANESS_ASCII=1; color appears only on a terminal and never with NO_COLOR.

v0.3.0 — routed failure, sliced context

5b40946

Since v0.2.0:

  • view.cells port slices: {"cell":"prep","ports":["value"]} selects which ancestor outputs enter an agent's context; bare strings unchanged.
  • view.graph: the effect context can carry the wiring among the cells an agent can see.
  • Field guards {field, equals} route on a field of a json record — no classifier needed. until.field gives repeat the same early-exit form.
  • on:"fail" edges route a failure record {code, message} to recovery cells; survivability is declared at admission and composes through nested organisms.
  • Failed effects are recorded as {requestDigest, error} — runs containing failures now verify bit-for-bit.
  • morphogen explain prints the compiled signature; morphogen diff compares receipts; per-cell work attribution lands on every record.
  • New examples: escalate, recover. 77 tests, 11 suite examples all verified.

v0.2.0 — context, iteration, fan-out, fan-in

Second increment of morphogen.organism.v1:

  • view.cells — agent/classifier/gate cells name ancestor cells whose committed records join the effect request under context.cells. Admission rejects non-ancestors: the graph declares what the model sees.
  • repeat — bounded iteration over a digest-embedded sub-manifest with carry and until early-exit. The evaluator-optimizer loop as structure.
  • each — a delivered list fans out through a sub-manifest once per element; interface outputs collect into list ports. Map is a cell.
  • many input ports — multiple edges collect into a list; guarded edges contribute conditionally. Fan-in, including conditional fan-in.

Receipts record rounds/items; nested paths loop/r<n>/, map/i<n>/. Verify replays all of it bit-for-bit offline. 65 tests, 9 suite examples (new: refine, panel, swarm).

morphogen.organism.v1: typed workflow organisms with replayable receipts.

  • cells: input/const/fn/agent/classifier/organism
  • guarded choice routing, skip propagation, root-owned budgets
  • effect seam: scripted/command/replay executors, named route selection, bounded tool callbacks, classifier shadow mode
  • content-addressed store; offline verify; CLI: run/check/verify/inspect/digest/suite/example
