Clog 1.2 serves initial route data to every signed-in viewer by default.

  • Always-on initial route data: each route's page query runs on the server as the signed-in viewer and is inlined into the HTML, so Relay renders without a duplicate GraphQL POST. The CLOG_SSR setting is removed and no configuration is needed. Anonymous requests still get the plain HTML shell.
  • Consistent error handling: inlined and fetched GraphQL responses go through the same check. A resolver error on a direct page load now shows the retryable alert instead of an empty list.
  • tsquid 0.3.0: route UI loads through tsquid's lazyResource, and the local RouteResource/RouteState helpers and stale generated Relay artifacts are removed.
  • Tests: new coverage for errors on a direct load and for real server-side resolver failures. The SSR browser tests now run in the default suite.

Upgrading from 1.1: if your deployment sets CLOG_SSR, it is now ignored and can be removed. SQLite stays at schema version 4, with no migration.

Download clog-standalone.tar.gz from this release. The release workflow builds and verifies the archive before attaching it. Deploy through loft-ctl deploy clog after updating the release pin; that deploy backs up the database and runs the installer.

Clog 1.1 adds generated initial route data for the PHP/Relay application.

  • With CLOG_SSR=1, each route’s page query runs on the server as the signed-in viewer and is inlined into the HTML. Relay consumes it without a duplicate GraphQL POST. Detail queries and inventory helpers still fetch in the browser.
  • Uses published tsquid 0.2.0 and Elephentity tsquid 0.1.0, with generated route/query manifests and locked production dependencies.
  • Removes the completed one-off cave inventory seed. Existing records are preserved, and upgrades no longer add the photographed stock.
  • Local development now defaults to port 18473.

SSR is opt-in. Expose CLOG_SSR=1 to the PHP-FPM workers to enable it in production; existing deployments continue using browser fetches by default. SQLite remains schema version 4.

Download clog-standalone.tar.gz from this release. The release workflow builds and verifies the archive before attaching it. Deploy through loft-ctl deploy clog after updating the release pin; that deployment flow backs up the database and runs the installer.

Validation: generated-code and GraphQL schema checks, client checks and production build, backend/schema-upgrade tests, 64 default browser tests, 15 SSR browser tests, and isolated production archive verification.

Clog 1.0 adds account administration and seeds the cave inventory. It upgrades the SQLite schema from version 2 to version 4 in one install run. Clog remains an Elephentity-based PHP application with SQLite storage.

What's new

  • User management: administrators can add users, reset passwords and delete users from the new Users page (/users), reachable via Manage users in the account menu. Resetting a password or deleting a user signs them out of every session. Administrators can't reset or delete their own account, and nobody becomes an administrator automatically.
  • Cave inventory seed: a one-off migration adds the stock photographed in the cave on 2026-09-28: 15 items and 20 units at location 2, dated 2026-09-28. If an item with the same barcode already exists, the units are added to it.

Breaking change

install upgrades storage to schema version 4:

  • Version 3 adds an admin flag and a session version to accounts. Existing accounts and sessions are unchanged.
  • Version 4 adds the cave seed. Databases without location 2, including fresh installs, gain no stock.

Earlier releases refuse a version 4 database, so keep the pre-upgrade backup to roll back.

Download and update

Use clog-standalone.tar.gz from this release. It includes compiled frontend assets, generated application code and locked production PHP dependencies.

The host requires PHP 8.3 or newer, PDO SQLite, mbstring and a web server. Follow the hosting guide:

  1. Stop the PHP-FPM pool.
  2. Back up the database.
  3. Replace the application files.
  4. Run php standalone/cli.php install.
  5. Restart PHP-FPM.

Then grant the first administrator with php standalone/cli.php user:admin <username>.

Validation

Generated-code and GraphQL checks, frontend checks and production build, backend and schema-upgrade tests, browser regression tests, and production archive verification passed for the release commit.

Clog 0.2 adopts tsquid for client-side UI coordination, typed routes, and Relay entrypoints, while retaining the dark surfaces and orange accents. Clog remains an Elephentity-based PHP application with SQLite storage.

What's new

  • UI coordination with tsquid: generated, typed routes and URLs; route-owned Relay query graphs; lazy-loaded route components; and code/data preloading on link hover or keyboard focus.
  • Persistent navigation state: searches and location filters survive reloads, detail/edit navigation, and browser history.
  • Account menu: a profile icon opens Change password and Sign out. Both readers and editors can change only their own password, with the current password required and ownership enforced on the server. Existing sessions remain signed in.
  • Consistent UI standards: entity-owned components, dedicated mutation hooks, and automated architecture checks alongside Astryx and StyleX theming.
